I saw it on Friday in Fairfield,CA at the 2:00 showing. The theater was about 80% full, which is pretty good for a Friday afternoon show.

There were a couple of girls behind me that were saying that Firefly was the best show on TV and they wore out the first set of DVD's they bought.

Tulsa Hollywood was packed at my show, the one before sold out...and I'm prtty sure the next did too (though I didn't check) They had us roped off in line to keep us separate from the rest of the movie goers..

Pretty good response from most.

3/4 full at the midnight opening (600 seat Ultra-screen theatre). 10.1 million at #2 was a little disappointing, but I'm hoping that there's less than a 20% drop off or perhaps an even bigger take it's second weekend. Good film despite some of the fan complaints over Wash & Book.

12:01 show, Jordan Commons, Salt Lake City Utah - not packed. BUT: my wife estimates our theater was between 70-80% full, and there was another theater in the complex showing the BDM. We should have gone to that one, since we were dressed up and it was the one where most of the costumed people ended up and they had some sort of party. OTOH, our theater needed the help; there were a few Blue Sun shirts in evidence and one guy who'd clearly if understatedly dressed as Wash, and we might have had an Inara (several showed up, but I think they all ended up in the party theater).

Better story: when tickets became available through Fandango, I didn't get to a computer for a few hours, and was horrified/elated to discover that, by the time I checked, the first three days of showings were all sold out at my favorite theater. Luckily, my wife found tickets to this 12:01 at a more distant venue.

Salt Lake Browncoats - hooray for you all! You might have seen me at the show. My wife and I looked like this:

Well I went and saw it first time it was shown here at 3:40 PM Friday. It was as packed as pretty much any other time I've ever gone to the theatre. Only times I've ever gone to the theatre and it was actually really packed and there was a long line for was Star Wars Episode 2, The Mummy Returns, and Spider-Man.

So yeah theatres here (got 2) arent ever truely "packed" but when I went and saw Serenity it was as packed as any other movie.

Reporting in from Santa Cruz, CA. The theater was full (might have even been sold-out, dunno for sure) at the 7:35pm showing I went to Friday night and the line was long waiting for the next showing when I left. Going again this coming weekend.

Saturday matinee show at Galaxy Cinema in Cornwall, Ontario.

Only about 9 or 10 folks here, but by Cornwall standards that's a crowd.

Not a lot of moviegoers here. Half the town's over 65 and a quarter is under 13.
