PA Shindig Returns! October 8-9th, 2005

It's that time of year again, time for the PA Shindig to make it's triumphant return. It will be held on October 8-9th this year and I'm hoping to make it even bigger and better than last year.

When? October 8th late morning to October 9th late afternoon
Am I invited? Yes, yes you are. But don't forget to fill out the RSVP form at the website so I know you're
coming and check out the "Menu" and "How to Help" pages to help out.

Why? Umm...for fun. :) And to celebrate the BDM and all things Firefly/Serenity.
What will we do? Well, we'll shindig in fine style with a BBQ, fun games with super prizes, chat it up with other browncoats, make s'mores and best of all WATCH FIREFLY PROJECTED HUGE ONTO THE SIDE OF A BARN!

I wrote you an email about the shindig awhile ago, why didn't you write me back? Well, funny story, I was checking my emails when I was way too sleepy to be operating a computer and I clicked a wrong button and deleted probaly about 6 emails from people asking about the shindig. Oops! Just email me back and I'll be happy to not be an idiot an delete your email...again. Really, I'll write ya back. Sorry about not getting back to y'all before.
How many people will be there? Well last year there were upwards of 45 people. This year is looking like it may be a bit bigger but only 30 people have filled out the RSVP form so far, but I know some of you are just procrastinating on that form. PLEASE fill it out now if you plan on coming so that I can be sure to buy enough food, and rent enough tables and chairs.
How do I get directions? Directions will be posted on the shindig website a week before the shindig. And I can always be reached by email if you have a question about directions/location.

To any and all lurking BDH, you are also most certainly invited. It is a very low key event. Kinda like a browncoat block party but with more giggling uncontrollably at charades and then there's that whole watching Firefly episodes 20 ft tall on the side of a barn thing. :)

Okay people are getting off ther butts and using the RSVP form. As of this morning we are up to 37 RSVP's.

PA shindig '04 alum here! Last year's shindig was such a great event that I am planning to attend again this year. I am normally a pretty shy person, but the shindig vibe was very casual and the Browncoats that I met there were so friendly that I quickly got to know tons of new people. I really enjoyed myself. And I cannot overstate how cool it is to watch FF under the stars on the side of a HUGE barn. And the smores were yummy, too (if I do say so myself).
I can't wait to enjoy another relaxing Browncoat weekend in the beautiful Eastern PA countryside (is is unbelievably green there) munching on smores and drinking Firefly wine!
