Someone took the name Icarus.
I liked that I was gonna go with that but my ship's name will be
The Morning Star. Dunno what it means but it sounds cool.

May have been on the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I'd call it home.

Ship names I might pick (and curiously, I might actually have the opportunity one of these days).
1: For a trading ship, it's hard to beat George R.R. Martin's ship for his character Haviland Tuf: "The Cornucopia of Excellent Goods at Low Prices."
2: Personal Sentimental Favourite: "Rick D. Husband." Guy was a classmate of mine. One of the good guys. Google him.
3. Alternative Sentimental Favourite: "Mary Ellen Carter." From the song by Stan Rogers.
4. "Serenity." One of the guys that used to work for me had a personalized plate on his Corvette ZR-1 that said, "Kp Flyin." I like the idea a lot.
5. "Enterprise." There's a song by Jean Stevenson that has the lyric, "These sister ships of different times have ever harboured iron men.." It's not just the Trek ship, but the whole idea that that name should always be flying.
6. "Risa." My wife.

The top of my list is "Filthy Whore" (film referance) so I'll be able to say things like:
"Get off that Filthy Whore!" and
"Don't let them touch the Filthy Whore!" or
"Seeya hon, I'm going back to the Filthy Whore"
My second choice would be (freetrader) Beowulf....any old time gamers may remember the pen and paper rpg called Traveler. That was the ship named on the original box cover.

Shikei -- "Death penalty" in Japanese.
Nemesis -- Greek goddess of Justice, Order and the like.
All for now.

Aha. I've thought of another. Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV.

I'll rape you to death.
I'll eat your flesh.
I'll sew your skin into my clothes.

My ship would be called the "Lily Sloane" in honour of the engineer who, with Zephraim Cochran, developed Warp Drive.

Gorram, I'm old....
Heck, I have the box still with the original plastic wrap around it.

That would be pretty valuable to some people....have you taken it to a con and shopped it around? I still have multiple copies of all the books and supplements, all well worn.
