Hey everyone. I've known about FFF.net for quite some time, but just now got around to registering--likely to avoid any kind of rush after the movie is released.
I've been a huge fan of Firefly for over a year and a half now. That is, after it was cancelled. My best friend got me to watch the first ten minutes of Our Mrs. Reynolds and I think I was hooked right from the "pretty floral bonnet" line. I ended up getting the DVD the day it was released, and I would get the comics if I could find a comic store that wasn't sold out of them.
...the place I was planning to go sold out at 10AM the day the first issues came out.
Anyway, there's all this stuff now I need to see about getting... I knew about the comics, of course, but nothing about the RPG book, and I didn't know the Serenity soundtrack had already been released.
Ok, I'm droning on for a bit. I decided to finally register here after getting through watching all of Firefly again to sort of get me in the mood of looking forward to Serenity next week. I hope to stick around. KF

Welcome! Thanks for de-lurking. Now go buy the Firefly/Serenity merchandise! But don't spend all your movie-ticket money.
Mal-licious
I'm going to add cursing and the hurling about of things to my repertoire.

Hi, Kizyr!
Like you, I just got around to registering. I had to post in the "Thanks to Haken" thread after lurking for... geez, I don't know how long.
Six days and counting!

I keep finding myself pimping MidTown Comics (in NYC), they will ship, and they seem to have copies in hand for sale:

just search for 'Serenity'
I love these comics!
BTW did you see the 'prequel' videos?

Perfect! I can pick up all those Serenity volumes without having to hunt them down in stores now! Though, it doesn't look like I'll get to reading the novel before the movie comes out. But maybe my Blue Sun shirt might come by then.

I've heard of it, but haven't gotten around to watching them and lost the link not too long ago. Thanks! KF

The trade paperback has been solicited in the new Previews catalog shipping to comic stores in December if you can't find the individual issues. I know it's not in time for the BDM but it'll make a nice Christmas gift.
Also, the Our Mrs Reynolds was the one I used to introduce my wife to the series when the DVD set was first released. She was hooked and then watched the rest of the series with me. She just read the comics and didn't make the connection with old characters from the series (has it really been that long). We're going to try to rewatch all episodes before the movie.
I can't wait. Friday can't get here fast enough. Two viewings this weekend. Wheee...
But she won't let me wear my brown coat on Friday night.
Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wear it to Saturday's showing.

I just picked up the Serenity novel at the Borders nearby here, and thanks to that link above I just ordered 8 of the comics (they don't have the River cover of issue #3) and Finding Serenity... at UPS 2-day, no less. So that might get here in time to let my browncoat friends read through the comics.
I'll get the trade paperback anyway, most likely. I mean at the very least it'll make for a nice loaner copy later on.
I don't have a printer so, eh, I'll just be waiting for my Blue Sun shirt to arrive either way. Even if it gets here after the premier, I won't mind too much--though I'd take it as a kindness if it got here sooner {^^}.

My brown coat is for winter wear, so I'm not likely to be up for wearing it. Now if it were December, yeah, no question about it. Though a brown coat with a Blue Sun shirt on might seem a bit... hypocritical. KF
