You could conceivably stop there, but I'm hoping you'll go right thru to Season 5 (the bestest season 
). It is up to you, though. However, I urge you to check out Angel Season Two. It's the season where everything fell in to place; they'd worked out the kinks during the previous season and were now ready to create some world-class storytelling.
If nothing else, get it for the Host--an amazingly original character who turns up this season. So, please, don't worry about future expenses, just take the plunge right now and see how you like it. If this season doesn't tickle your fancy more than the last, I'll do the Dance of Shame.

There's a kind of natural breaking point between ANGEL 2 and ANGEL 3. Y'know a lot of it has to do with how much you like Wesley and how much you like a new character you'll meet during S2 (in addition to the Host).

I have Season 2. I'm watching Season 5 via Blockbuster ( dvd's in the mail do so kick ass
) There was something about the whole Conner / evil Cordy thing that I just didn't...well, never mind.

I love Angel season 2. A lot. You could leave it there, since there really isn't a cliff hanger or anything. But you won't want to. You'll want to see more.

All 5 seasons are good in their own way (season 4 is a hot topic of discussion for many people).
My opinion, watch them all. They were intended to go together, they must be watched together.
