Ick. Couldn't they have shown one of AT's movies, or failing that, a *good* movie?

Red Dawn was a cool movie in the 80s, especially given that the Cold War was still on & the Russians were the "looming menace" that the Federals constantly went on about.
It will be shiny to see Alan playing poker. I will watch it just to see the clips of Serenity. Great target audience for Universal to hit w/ the clips too. Hopefully it will bring in some newbies.

One of the funniest things I ever saw was when Joe Bob Briggs was doing "summer school" on Monstervision, and he had some military guy with him as they watched "Red Dawn". I wish I could remember all the snarky comments that were made.
By the way, according to my brother you are only allowed to drink red, white and blue beverages when you watch "Red Dawn." So stock up on the Budweiser and Pepsi.
And back to the topic at hand, yay Alan and Serenity clips!

For those of you who missed out:
And I suppose if you taped it and haven’t seen it yet, this is a spoiler. (?)
In the first section they discussed how Alan is not dating an actress right now and how he’s never dated a “rabbit-boiler.”
In the second section, they talked about Serenity. I think the guy called Joss Josh. Alan explained about Firefly and said how “the fans, the browncoats are so devoted.” I would think it would be really hard to talk about your project and play cards at the same time.
In the third section, they asked him some questions:
What do you prefer to drive: a space ship or Mustang? He said Mustang because driving a spaceship is just keeping your hands still and leaning a lot.
What do you live playing better: a pirate or a robot? He said pirate because he likes the long hair and the jewelry.
What did you like working on more: Firefly or Serenity? He said Serenity because it was with Universal and Firefly was with Fox and Fox hated them.
If you could go back in time and live in a movie, which would it be: Gone with the Wind or Smokey and the Bandit? He said Smokey and the Bandit.
What did kids make fun of you for more: your last name or theatre? He said his last name because they didn’t make fun drama kids in Texas – they were thespians.
Which former co-star would you like to kiss more: Heath Ledger or Vince Vaughn? He said Vince Vaughn because he’s the one he hasn’t kissed yet.
In the fourth section, they asked what he prefers more, theatre, movies, or TV. He said theatre, but he likes how movies stick around longer. TV shows are a big risk because you sign on for seven years.
The fifth section wasn’t too interesting. They focused on the cards. Alan had to fold because he had nothing. The guy was making fun of him because he was so serious – “These Juliard guys are always so serious.” But Alan said it was because he was used to playing in Vegas where the chips are actually his.
The sixth section, the plugged Serenity some more. Alan said they are robbers and Steve says, “Oh, like Robin Hood.” And Alan was like, “Yeah, except we rob from the rich and give to ourselves.” … which sounds vaguely familiar… He said the fans are crazy and it keeps getting all these awards, and if it does well, they’ll make more, which we already knew. Alan lost the round, though he was doing pretty well there for a while.
Then I went to bed (what? I've got 7:45 class tomorrow) so if anything happened after that, you'll have to fill me in.
