i think you're all crazy to get this worked up over his name.
imdb does its cast posts from production material - that makes it as official as anything we have.
the only way to undo that would be a conflicting statement in the show - which isn't happening any time soon.
jerry lee warren - yeah it's a crappy name - but he's a texan - `least the actor is, and texans often have crappy names. that's why he goes by wash.
maybe he was adirty kid. looked like a surfer when he came on board - maybe he eschewed the shower until mal got pissed and yelled at him to "wash!"
least thats my theory.

Yeah, not a big deal either way. I feel that anything that's not said on the show itself isn't necessarily canon. IMDB is good, but not infallible by any means.
If "Jerry Lee Warren" were correct it would mean Wash and Kaywinnit Lee "Kaylee" Frye have the same middle name. That's a little odd, but not that unlikely a choice since Anglo and Chinese cultures dominate in the "New West."
Kaylee is my favorite character too, by the way. Not just because I have a huge crush on her.
That is a factor, however.

yeah - sux that she got/is getting hitched.
hopefully it won't last and she'll be all heart broken and needy. well of course - meeting her in a social setting might prove useful as well.

Y'all can try to turn this into a "Kaylee is Hot" thread all you like but it does not change the fact that Wash's full actual name is not Jerry Lee Warren.

it's in the production material apparently as it's been quoted that way in more than one place.
sorry it's so important for you to not accept this - and as he doesn't really exist it's really moot.
