I have managed to locate a transcript of the jungle whispers that characters hear in LOST. As I read and ponder I can't help but wonder how many layers there are going to be to this show.
Here's the link to the board that last posted it

Danielle references the others in the episode where she tortures Sayid.
DANIELLE ROUSSEAU: We were coming back from the Black Rock. (She turns
around.) It was them. They were the carriers.
SAYID: Who were the carriers?
DANIELLE ROUSSEAU: The others.
SAYID: (not following) What others? What is the Black Rock? Have you seen
other people on this island?
DANIELLE ROUSSEAU: No. But I hear them. Out there in the jungle. They
whisper.

I was curious to know what others on this board think of all that. I've heard lots of speculation regarding the OTHERS and the hatch. That perhaps the others have been imprisioned on the island and that they got here through the hatch. Now that lost is on DVD I've had plenty of time to watch and ponder.

I think I'm beginning to hate the show. They have far too many mysteries going on that they aren't giving us an answer to.
The hatch was a total rip off. They have built up to that so much to not give us something by the end of the season.

Actually I kind of like how things are being slowly revealed. I'd rather savor the interactions of plot that have a wham-bam TV experience.
Firefly was a show that slowly opened up plot devices leading to larger story arcs. Things like Inara's Secret, Books Past, The hands of Blue, the Unification War, ect.... All stong plot devicies and mysteries that would have been ruined if they had been quickly explained.
Well, I guess Fox did a bang up job ruining the show anyway.
But my point is I like all the mystery and interconnectivity of things in this show. And I think it's brilliant that season 2 will be entirely new with the survivors from the tail section (At least a strong theory now)
Do not fear me. Ours is a peaceful race, and we must live in harmony.

I don't like how they are such teases though. They have acted like we'll find out what the hatch is about 10 times now. I fully expect the first episode of season 2 to be another let down. We won't see what the hatch is. We'll just get some rough description from Kate and it will be implied that she's hiding something from everyone else in her explination. Eventually they'll reveal what she's hiding and it will be some tiny bit of information and yet another let down. By the end of season 2 I expect to know about as much as we do now, but there will be more strange occurances to wonder about.

I am relishing my Lost dvds!
It's fun watching season 1 unfold again and noticing all the little clues given as to what we would eventually learn about each character.
For example, the rock star Charlie was always mentally elsewhere (other characters having to say his name twice, "charlie.... Charlie!" louder the second time to get his attention, etc.) or even full-on nodding off before it was revealed that he had heroin with him.
And Locke's referring to the plane crash as a "miracle" before his revelatory episode where we learn what he means by that. The other characters assume the miracle he praises is that they all survived the crash.
The show's attention to detail and texture is impeccable. I'll be there for season 2 for sure!

I have to agree with that statement 100%. And it's shocking too because when you watch the extras on disc 7, JJ Abrams says that they had hardly any time to write the script. I think he said 6 weeks? By the end though, they had such awsome brainstorming sessions he said that the 1st 5 seasons were all figured out.
There are lots of tidbits hidden all throughout the show. One I saw was the press coverage of Hurley winning the jackpot on a TV in the background of one of the flashback sequences.
