I'm definately picking up a Mad Max vibe.

Not too wierd considering it's for Australia.

It looks like there might be a piece of it sticking out, but still ... kinda shabby treatment for our favorite Firefly class transport.

It also seems as if the cast members in the background of the pic were chosen oddly -- Mal is obvious, but Jayne? Zoe, maybe, but Inara? And Inara with a GUN? No bad guys, no space shots? And excuse me, but there's enough open space on that desert to give us Kaylee and Wash and Simon and Book, with enough room left over for Crocodile Dundee and a marching band of wallabees.

I'm a marketing person, and it just seems like they're missing the boat -- since Serenity ain't there, i guess they are, literally. *grins*

Medium-Weak spoilers to answer your post:

Select to view spoiler:

1) One of the few tiny quips I had about Serenity was the lack of Serenity itself. It definitely didn't come across as a 10th character like in the show. And the last portion of the movie didn't have it in at all. So the poster actually is fitting in that respect.

2) The characters here are most definitely the main ones in the movie. Book has a minor role. Kaylee has a disappointingly minor role. Simon, other than an awesome intro, also has a minor part. Wash does have a decent role but I guess he's not the most exciting thing to have on a poster (in the nicest way possible).

I'm sorry, I think you've got the wrong movie. I didn't see Crocodile Dundee *OR* wallabees in the version of Serenity that I saw.

I'm going to leave it at that and step well clear of broad Australian stereotypes.

COOL! It's the new tough-girl remake of Barbarella! Oh... wait.

My apologies to anyone in Australia if my mention of Crocodile Dundee or wallabees inflicted any emotional distress. My complete and utter lack of political correctness has been duly noted in my file at Alliance headquarters, and I will be drawn and quartered at the next official excruciating execution date, which will be posted at the bottom of a locked filing cabinet in a disused lavatory on the dark side of the least noticable moon of Osiris.

Once again, I am very very very sorry. *grins*

Hey, at least you went with half decent stereotypes...

Paul Hogan is a lot more palatable than some other unmentionable crocodile themed men who dangles babies...

You know, I'm sensing your apology was slightly sarcastic. But we're all having fun, here, right?

Well, i was sort of being sarcastic in the first place, invoking Paul Hogan and the indigenous wildlife, and you were sort of being sarcastic back at me in noticing their absence in the actual film, so i thought i'd continue the theme. *grins* No offense meant or taken, traveler. We're all Browncoats on this bus, right.

Out of idle curiousity, would there have been any acceptible Australian stereotypes I could have used to reiterate the poster's Aussie origins? *smile*

You even think about typing the words Vegemite, Minogue or Daddo into that and I will hunt you down.

I. WANT. IT. River kicks ass in the movie and this is a great show of her "talents". But I have to agree, everyone else looks weird...as if they were added in later as an afterthought. Still - where can I buy one to hang on the wall next to my other Serenity poster?

***Never judge a book by its movie***

Weeelll, River IS kinda the big focus point of the movie. So I get that, kinda.

I'm IN LOVE with this poster. It has a way different feel than the one most of us are used to, but I feel this is in a good way. It'll definitely catch attention. And it's just so darn pretty, I wanna make lots and lots of livejournal icons. MMm. Preetttyy.
