Well, I was looking and I think it's about time we had another DA thread, if only for the benefit of Zoot, Chrisisall and myself.
I was just wondering - how many of the 2009 escapees can we name - I can only think of about 8.

Both of which are women. Didn't Jessica's brother play a Manticore escapee in 1.22? There were a few of them, then, weren't there? What were their names?

Hey! I thought DA was referring to Dark Angel. I'm a big fan (so much so that I almost didn't watch Firefly because FOX cancelled DA in favour of it)

I'd love to help out but you've taken the only ones I know

How many actually escaped? Cos there weren't that many - I cant remember the exact figure though

Wow, I've been so imersed in Buffy and Angel of late, DA has taken a temporary back seat!! And you and Zoot have been MIA for what seems like weeks!!!

Weren't there 12 escapees? I'm really bad w/names.
I mean, REALLY bad. I'd have to take notes as I watched to get 'em all.

A question: were you okay w/the major gear shift between seasons 1 and 2?

And a Jessica fact I just read: She did the eating disorder thing during the hiatus, that's why she's so thin the first half of season 2!!!(she thought she was....yep, fat!!!!!)

Well I didn't really watch the show when it first aired but when it was repeated prior to the airing of season 2 I decided to watch it. I liked it, enough to keep watching it but I didn't "really" get into it straight away

Unfortunately, Sky only repeated half of season 1 so when season 2 aired, I had only seen the first half as well as the final episode (which they at least at the decency to show a couple of nights before)

It was during season 2 I fell in love with the show.

But. BUT. After I had watched season 1, and then season 2, I realised the first was in fact stronger. I don't even think it was that I didn't like the more traditional fantasy elements of weird looking creatures walking the streets, but I guess I just prefered the original idea for the series. That being said, I did enjoy a lot of season 2 with the only real disappointment being that there were a lot of questions left hanging. I didn't like the breeding cult idea in the beginning, but by the end I really wanted to know more and how it would be resolved.

I recently bought the follow-up books so I'm going to start reading them soon

As for Jessica Alba's eating disorder? Well, that's hollywood for you. I don't think the media helps, with every photo taken by the paparazzi being analysed and the celeb in question criticized.

Oh and back on subject. I know its fairly improbable, but I would love to see a Dark Angel movie. During their tour of Japan (which I believe took place either near the end of season 2 or after it completed filming), Jessica Alba and Michael Weatherly spoke about the hope of doing a movie.

I know how unlikely it is, but I'm sure it would be a hit. I mean lets face it, James Cameron and Jessica Alba are more recognisable names than Joss Whedon and our BDH, yet that didn't stop Serenity from hitting the screens. Let's hope the same could be said of DA.

I was so happy to have DA back for the 2nd season I didn't think about it until the whole bizarre breeding thing really took shape. What a waste. And I even missed Lydecker, who had really started to annoy me during the first year.

Because DA had come so close to getting the ax before, I wasn't too mad at Firefly to watch but I sympathize with anyone who was. If it hadn't been Joss, maybe I would have been happy to declare Friday night tv-free.

So, has anyone here read the DA novels? I have one on my shelf but haven't gotten around to reading it...haven't even read any good DA fanfic, which is weird, since it was a perfect show for it.
