Thankyou for those. Jewel has a great voice but the sound quality is poor and I'm not a fan of that style of music. I could imagine her being in a musical film sometime.

and I would love to see her perform in person.

of course I would also enjoy seeing her in a musical.

Are there any better recordings out there, you know like a Studio recorded one?

Oh and also, the YouSendIt site - how does it work? Cos it says its for emailing files to people, but these files are clearly stored on the site for people to download

I think YouSendIt was created because it is hard to attach an audio or video file to an e-mail, they are just too big...
so you can send it directly to someone via YouSendIt, but obviously you're really only sending the link where they can download it.

they do shut down a link after a certain number of downloads, or after 2 weeks, which ever comes first; so I don't think they see themselves as a 'file sharing' site.

It is really great for those short videos you can make on a digital camera; a friend's baby is just starting to stand and walk, so it is great to get these short vids of the baby's attempts.

From what I remember from interviews, Jewel doesn't actually record her singing, she does it for pleasure and, occasionally at a jazz lounge or other that she knows really well.

These recordings, I assume, were taken on a small device such as a phone or dictaphone, which is why they are a poor quality.

I doubt very much she'll record professionally (I hope she does, but I doubt it).

Basically, you upload a file and the site stores it for seven days. You send the link to the person you want to receive the file and they can download it. It saves on trying to send and receive really huge files through email.

For this purpose, I sent the link to myself and just copied and pasted them here.
