Bah. Once an artist has generated quality, critically-acclaimed material for around twenty years running, I might consider giving them a listen. Until then they're the flavor of the month, and I'm not hungry.

We in the US have no room to feel smug about being mainly Robbie-free: we inflicted Britney Spears on the world.

Ok, here's the thing I can't stand about Robbie Williams - and no, it's not his music, coz some of it I actually quite like - it's his attitude. This "oh, poor me, my life is so terrible and noone understands" crap that he spouts on a regular basis. Robbie - if superstardom is such a chore then shut the f*** up and go live in the mountains. Preferably in a cabin next to some wild bears. Just don't expect anyone to actually feel sorry for you.

And now the hypocrisy takes over coz I love Britney!! (and Sean, don't think I didn't notice your snide comment about her in another thread). At least she gets on & has a good time - none of this "woe is me crap."

We've inflicted many horrible musicians on the world. It's amazing there aren't International Laws against American Music.

I remember something about Britney, was it the marraige thing? Can't remember.

Just to clarify my position (so as not to be snide ) Britney is the suckiest suck who ever dared to suck. I mean I've seen perfromers suck before but she is summit else!
And I don't buy the innocent virginial little girl act either...
If shes innocent I was recently voted worlds most handsome man by an overwhelming majority.

And if thats not enough G.W.Bush is a Britney fan...

Q: What do you have when you are holding two little green balls in your hand.
A: Kermit's undivided attention.

Guess I'm just a cranky old curmudgeon. Janis Joplin was a diva who could light up a stage. Spears is just a bit of candyfloss; as are all the other bubbleheaded "pop artists" out there. All of 'em.

Bonnie Raitt--now there's a lady with talent and class. Melissa Etheridge could give lessons in kicking life's ass while making serious art at the same time. There's only one decent song about an angel, and Sarah McLachlan did it. Don't even get me started on the boys. When they grow up and have an actual life, then maybe they can gain the cred to hold forth musically about what it's all about. Bleating kids have no room to talk.

I'm going to grump my way down the hall to get a refill for my coffee mug, now. Harrumph.
