Okay, it's a little bit of a cliche, but boy did I have fun making it. It lives at http://www.mosylu.com/fireflyfics.html Check it out!
And for anyone else that's interested, I re-posted my other Firefly fanvid, "Time." It's now in the 16:9 format so people don't look so . . . squashed up.

This is fantastic! Each one gets their day to be a hero, don't they? I especially liked the line: "I need a superman to sweep me off my feet", with Zoe grabbing Wash from the console. Great vid - this one goes in my collection.

Excellent. I'm downloading the "Time" one now
Question though - how do you make them?
I want to do one (And have a few ideas in mind) but would like to know which programs you use to convert the dvd files so that they can be used with a program like Windows Movie Maker

Hi Needy
I actually downloaded them in AVI format. I'm not sure how they're converted from the DVDs. Windows Movie Maker is what I used, but make sure you have plenty of RAM because it eats up memory like a starving goat.
Does anyone else know of a less munchy movie-maker that will, furthermore, save in a smaller file format? I feel bad putting such a strain on dial-up connections with those monster files, but every conversion program I've ever used suckethed mightily.

Oh right. Thanks anyway.
...
So you're saying starving goats eat memory?
So that's why when I woke up with amnesia that time, the goat was standing next to me looking quite full
