I thought I'd post a second excerpt from my novelization of Serenity, this being a scene that's actually in the movie (as opposed to the excerpt posted on Univeral's site and the publisher's site, which is a scene from the TV show that I included as background material to set the movie story up).
You can read it at:

There are some minor spoilers, but nothing major -- certainly none of the variety that will ruin the movie for you.

Sorry, Keith, I have to quibble on that. There is what I would consider a moderate spoiler namely that:
Select to view spoiler:
Shepherd Book frightened River more than Jayne, and more than Zoe.
'Course that's small potatoes compared to:
Select to view spoiler:
Shepherd Book has left the crew of Serenity.
Hell, that might even qualify for semi-major status. You've got to keep in mind how spoiler averse people here can be. "Minor" to me means something I've already seen in the trailer. This is of a different class.
But, what the f
. Now that I've found that stuff out, no reason not to keep reading. It's good stuff. I almost never read novelizations, but I think I'll read yours._______________________________________________

I disagree that it's a spoiler, and definately not in the grand scheme of what you're going to experience in the movie. Only problem I'd have is just the fact that reading this scene in advance is going to affect your enjoyment of the scene in the movie. That may be a good or bad thing, doesn't really matter, but I'd personally avoid it I hadn't already seen the movie.
Good scene though, nice stuff. Also has some nice context with the R Tam Sessions... (c: Thanks for the preview Krad. You do good works.

Thanks, KRAD!
There is no way that I'll have enough willpower to hold off reading your novel until after the movie comes out...
Great read!!!

Very cool, Keith - many thanks. I preordered the book a long time ago, so I'm just waitin'...
Personally, I'm really looking forward to the novelization. I tend to prefer to read a story, anyway, plus there's all the extra bits you get from it...

Wow. That's great. Just one question. Where can I find the first excerpt?

I'll rape you to death.
I'll eat your flesh.
I'll sew your skin into my clothes.
If you're very very lucky, I'll do it in that order - TheReaver

Any chance that there's going to be a glossary in the back of the book that has the definitions for the Chinese phrases?

Now I'm all curious about how much KRAD knows. Do you think Joss told him all the secrets that we're all dying to find out about?
I would agree that this piece has minor spoilers for the movie. It's well written though.
