Aha, suckers!! Got mine at GenCon.

Well actually my friend bought it for me and I haven't been able to pick it up yet. Can't wait to read it though.

I already have orders for two from San Diego Browncoats so don't go selling out until I get there!

I'm definitely going to be ordering a copy from my FLGS tomorrow. Of course, I was going to anyway even before I saw the cover, if only for deckplans and ship stats. (It will have deckplans and ship stats, right? ) I'm a tech geek at heart, and love the little details that I can use to write interesting fanfic. For instance, two pieces of data I'm trying to track down are the dimensions of the cargo door and the maximum load capacity of the ship; I have a cargo in mind with a specific size, shape and mass, and I need to know for my story if it can be brought on board. I don't suppose any short excerpts from the game itself will be forthcoming? Hope the website is up soon.

Don't go selling all your copies before I buy one on Friday, or I /will/ be forced to do something I don't want to do.

Namely, leaving without a copy! Which I don't want to do!

Hey Jamie I need to ask a couple of game related questions and wondered where would be a good place to do that?

While our mechanic is still tinkering in our website's engine room, I wanted to be able to share the front cover image of the Serenity Role Playing Game with all of you out there.
Speaking of the game website, could you please post the URL for it? Even if it's 404 for the moment, I'd put it on my "check regularly" list so I'd see it when it goes up. Maybe FFF.Net could put up a new forum just for discussion of the game. Will the game include character sheets for all of Serenity's crew and passengers?

Select to view spoiler:

Including Shepherd Book who, according to a recent excerpt from the movie novelization, is no longer on board?

ALL of Serenity's crew and passengers from the SERIES are included as character sheets, from Mal all the way thru to Book.

I purchased the RPG hardcover, which sold out in the morning on day two of hte convention, (and one of the limited edition {only 150 printed!} Gencon 2005 softcovers!) at Gencon last week. I also managed to play one of the demos there on Thursday, Aug. 18th. It's a fast, fun game that seems to capture the feel of the show rather well. I was told that somewhere between 700-800 hardcovers were sold at the con! Turnout was amazing and Margaret Weis couldn't have been happier she told me as she signed one of my books. Serenity was definitely the "buzz" at this years convention.

I am looking forward to getting my gaming group to start playing it very soon.

Is the game set up that we can create our own characters and ships or do we have to be members of Serenity?

You can create your own characters and ships as well as use the pre-defined characters. I also understand there are rules for playing a ship as a character. (note - this info is from the Comic-Con presentation, not from my personal experience with the game, but I believe it's accurate.)
