Serenity 3 issue comic series

Hiya!
Have any of you seen the Serenity comics? I have the first two, and they're just awesome! What I was wondering (knowing practically nothing about the plot of Serenity, and happy to keep it that way) is if the comics follow the plot of the movie, or if they're a different storyline altogether. A lead up, maybe? I'm just REALLY hoping I haven't ruined the movie for myself.

Yeah, I just finished #2 and I think it ROCKS THE RUTTIN' HOUSE!!
ahem...Excuse me. I get really excited about comics. I'm a natural-born comic geek. Runs in my mom's side of the family.
It's my understanding that the storyline in the comics leads up to the movie, and if there are sequels, there will be more comics in between. That last part is just hearsay, though; don't quote me on it.
