The one that is suppose to show that Firefly takes place in a cluster of solar systems instead of just a single one?

Well in the movie they explain that all the planets are in one solar system.
A fan then just put all the planets named on a map. This means it's not an official map. It's pretty cool, nonetheless.

just copy and paste the whole url, insteaed of clicking.

well it puts to rest the old 'is FireFly set in one system argument', but I think I prefered the multiple system explination...
Q: What do you have when you are holding two little green balls in your hand.
A: Kermit's undivided attention.

Hey cool! According to the URL, he/she is going to college in the same town I live in. I was all worried I was the only browncoat for miles.
Not that this has anything to do with the thread.

That's okay...this doesn't either: I found a fellow browncoat withing about four miles of me! Now that's shiny!
As for the map and all that, I do believe information provided in Podcast #7 of The Signal states that Firefly takes place all in one solar system. Improbable though it might be, they say, it's not wholly impossible.

It puts nothing to rest as long as its a fan map.

it's a fan map, so the planets aren't in the right orbits. But it's true that it's a one system deal. The movie lays that out pretty clearly.

Quote:Yup, as someone (or someones) already stated, the movie makes it all clear. If you can find a picture of some Alliance cash from the movie or the map that Geof Mandel (graphic designer) made for the movie, that'll lay everything out. Quite well, too.

I hear lots of people say that it's not possible, but then I hear the top notch astrophysicists not too long ago say "well, gosh, we forgot to look up" (meaning a different inclination). Whoops. I guess "Universal Laws" don't mean much when you've not actually been out in the 'verse. But I digress. So I'll stop.
Cheers.

I was the moron who made this map.
I made a thread on it on the O Boards here:
http://browncoats.serenitymovie.com/serenity/index.html?fuseaction=for
um.viewtopic&t=15585
I basically put the planets rather randomly.
Of course, I made sure that if a planet is suppose to be a central planet or an outer planet, I put it correctly. Otherwise, the planets were placed where I felt they made the most sense.
Anyways, if anyone wants the raw Photoshop file (.PSD) for the map, I still have it, just let me know. Maybe you can do a more logically layout than what I did. ;)
