Hello, hello, hello!
Apologies for absence, I would have responded earlier but Ex wife, her son and her current boyfriend arrived unexpectedly so I had to make them watch "Trash". Forgotten how funny it was!
Now, in all seriousness, my last post contained absolutely no whining or dark sarcasm (which should be kept in the classroom as far as I am concerned), merely a genuine regret. Especially as I would have been able to show off my new Blue Sun teeshirt!
I would looove to come on Wednesday however, there is a distinct possibility that I could be sent to Edinburgh.
Sadly, this would be for a conference on bendy buses, not a premiere about fireflies.
If the worst comes to the worst, I will be there in a zen way.
Now I'm learning about scary

Emma!
Forgive me (please!) if I'm mistaken.
But... didn't I just see your name on the screening list for August 20th in Amsterdam?
And if it's you ... aren't you happy I told you to register and be put on the waitinglist???
Eh? Eh???
Oh, and no subtitling for the movie, they haven't finished it yet.
(Or is it old news and did I miss it? I checked this morning if your name was on the list and didn't see it. But I'm a bit sick. Really! And you could ask, after that, why are you up so late, if you're really sick? Well, I slept a lot today. So... not tired. Grrrr. I think I'll empty my bottle of very fine rosé, that would help!)
Anyhoo, I hope it's you, and not another Emma!
To all the others: you keep impressing me with all randomness! I tried to keep up in the beginning, just after Starfury, but... I can't!
Just too randomn!
I'll catch up when November draws near!

Don't you hate it when you stay out late for bowling and then lose anyway?
I have no such pains as I was out playing Bridge and won, won I tell you.
Keels, your link just demands your password, you need to either tell us it or unlock the directory to be browsable.
Oh yes, I sent a DVD along with lots of Firefly/Serenity bits, stuff that is generally available like the three trailers plus stuff from the old Fox website including cast interviews. And the full length outtakes video.
I didn't know Emma had proposed when I wrote the letter. In fact, I still haven't gotten back to her about that. Oh well, I'll put it on my to-do list.
Now to brace myself for tomorrow. It's my sister and mother's actual birthday so I have yet more running around to do although we're going to see an open air production of Shakespeare so that should be quite cool.

I've almost finished my very first ever music video thingy. As soon as I get it sorted and have uploaded it somewhere, y'all be the first to know. Or near enough, in any case.
I need to get a proper website for this kind of thing...

Bridge. You know, Bridge, card game, like a sophisticated version of Whist?
It's a bit of an old man's game but I enjoy it. Plus I get to win a fair bit.
*waits eagerly for new music video*

Isn't that the game old ladies play?
And this is what I learned today: Fritos do not a dinner make. *ick* I feel a bit sick now.
Also: Open air Shakespeare, so nice! *jealous* again. I think my eyes may have turned green from all the jealousy I've been feeling of late. Shindigs, creme eggs, Conventions, DVDs made by everyone's favourite doctor, amusing cats.
I was in a Shakespeare play once. I am very proud of this. In high school I was in Tom Stoppard's "A 15 Minute Hamlet" (I was Horatio.) and then several years later I did "Pericles" in a community theater in Philadelphia. I played 9 different characters in Pericles. Pretty much ran on stage, delivered a few lines, then ran off, threw on another costume and ran back on. It was GREAT.

Who-what?
The only card games I know are snap, shithead, go fish, and bullshit. I force them upon people at shindigs.
