Yeah, I agree with Needy, take a couple days off and you always feel like you've missed a lot. 'Cause you're all so intertaining and cool!

I imagine our future assignments will have more to do with putting up posters of the movie than killing our own kind, but I could be wrong (because after all I am crazy, right?)

Serenity, can I worship you for a minute? You are SO GENEROUS to be making hats for whoever wants 'em! I'm so excited to eventually get mine. It will be interesting to get my family's reaction (I hooked them all, but they're not browncoats...yet) Anyway, I just measured my head loosely above my ear and got 23". Knit stretches though, so an inch or two bigger or smaller would still be cool. I'm not super concerned about fit. Once again, you're totally awesome. And you play the dulcimer? brownie points :) (and wow, a dulcimer trio on this crew!)

Anyway, it's cool if my sister gets left off, she's a fan but not on this crew. I just submitted it incase y'all liked her dress a lot better and wanted to use it instead. Mine looks a bit plainer because you can't see the cool bustly treatment in back or the sash tails, nor the fake watermark silk of the fabric that I love (this for Serenity and Flechette and the other girls on board). But I'm pretty happy my picture'll get used! And like our dear captain pointed out, how closely are they going to look at thousands of pics anyway?

Wow, sorry for the rant!

Too many posts have gone by...

Amy- please, no worshipping necessary. But I do except gifts, especially chocolate!
Making these hats is fun. I come from a very crafty family, so it's in my blood. I usually get the fever around Christmas time. Last year I made funky scarves for everyone. This year I've gotten the bug a bit early, and it's manifested itself in the form of Jayne hats. Gives me something to do while I'm rewatching my Firefly DVDs for the umpteenth time. (NOTHING on TV!!)I'm not so good at the sitting still.

And I thought the info about your dress fascinating. I want to see the back view now. I've always wanted to wear a hoop skirt. Do you make your dresses or do you purchase them from somewhere? Both your dresses are just gorgeous. One year for halloween I was Rapunzel. That was fun. Especially the hair, which was so long it dragged on the floor. I had to hold it over one arm to keep it off the ground. Okay, enough girly talk.

If we do have to kill off a crew member, we can kill off one of the ones that have never bothered to contribute to our craziness. But I really hope we don't have to. I don't like Survivor.

Oh, and I really hope Jack gets a picture of Ron Glass, that would be fantastic.

You better believe I'm getting pictures when I go to Dragon*Con. I'm going to be working at the Browncoat table and helping set up for the shindig so I really really really hope I meet some of the BDHs. Rumor is that they like to stop by the fan tables. I'm going to be rooming with Tracy, who's the photo queen (if you've never seen her photo albums, you don't know what you're missing. She's got pictures of EVERYBODY!), so I think I'm good to go.

TRM-If it puts your mind at ease, I said a quick prayer for safe delivery over the hats before I mailed them.

Soul and Greek-The lady at the post office talked me into priority (they always do that. Why do I bother?) so they should be there in a few days. Let me know as soon as they come!

PsychicRiver-we do have nearly all the pictures we need, but if you wanted to get the hawaiian print shirt like you said you were going to, that'd be great. Like TRM(?) said, the more pictures, the better options we have. Plus, the more fun! Don't feel left out!

Is that everything I wanted to say? Gosh, I hope so.

Toronto is having a Comic-con August 26, I think, and Adam Baldwin is going to be there. I wanted to go, but I found out that's the same weekend I play in the NSA Slo-pitch Provincials....Damn!!

*shoots Serenity the Happy Dance death stare*

*takes back the stare...makes an exception due to the incredibly nice thing she's doing for the crew*

Jack's away?!? I may have to offer up my services to Dr. Me.....I good with power tools....

I think somebody needs to get his priorities straight!

Just kidding, Safe! We can't ask you to let your softball team down just to earn us extra credits. We're only your crew, your shipmates, your flying buddies (feeling guilty yet?)

I guess we could maybe let it slide, this one time, but you better play a good game! (these NSA whatchamahoowees sound important.)

And what is wrong with the happy dance? It was a very good happy dance!! Very Charlie Brown.

*hides Safe's powertools when he's not looking*

Now I feel real guilty....thanks...

If it wasn't the provincials(think all-state, this is for a chance to play in the nationals, all Canada).....nuthin' I'd like better than meeting Jayne.

By the way, how long does it take for them to give credits for submitted art anyway?? I've submitted 2 pictures so far but have yet to see any points...

Nuthin's wrong with YOUR happy dance....Jack on the other hand....

Wait just a cotton pickin' minute!! Where are my power tools?? There's a really big drill in there I named Carla.....and I want it back!

Safeat2nd soon to be named Mud,

Hehe, sounds like we have some things in common. (gee, what a shock--maybe we should have expected three dulcimer players!) I've always got a handful of crafts going at once as well. Right now that includes a new Civil War dress for my sister. I make our costumes mostly, though we've occaisionally hired people to make stuff for us, like when we first started out. I got a lot of hired help on the ballgown too 'cause I was young and inexperienced when it was first made (now I could handle it, but back then the idea of cutting into that $10/yrd fabric freaked me out). I would love to gab all day with you about crafts and costuming but then I would drive everyone else on this boat crazy! We only need one crazy sister probably. I would also love to post for you a picture of the back of the dress, but have no idea how. Do you know?
Great chatting with you,

Amy, Crafty Sister of Destiny

Amy-you could probably post a picture in the blue sun room. People do it all the time, though they usually are Firefly related. OR, you could email it to me. I'll PM you my email address.
And, if we don't want to drive everyone else crazy, we can PM to our hearts contents. They never have to know.

Safe: I hope you don't REALLY feel guilty because, wow..nationals, that is shiny!! I hope you guys win. What's your team name? Go (insert team name here)!!!
My cousin plays baseball for his high school team and he's very good. I tried to go to his games and be the supportive cousin, but I find watching the sport so very boring,(not as bad as cricket, though) partly because half the time I have no idea what's going on. (I hope you don't hate me for saying it. I've gone to Major and Minor league games before and they're a bit more interesting, and they have audience participation, which helps. But high school games? Boring and looooong.)
They stopped inviting me to my cousin's games after I brought a book. (It was Finding Serenity btw, you'd think they'd make an exception!)
But baseball season is over and now it's onto cross country. I can handle that. You cheer as they start and then you stand around chitchatting for 15 minutes and then they come back and you cheer some more and then you go home.
Well, that was a roundabout way of saying that I hope you do well and win and get to go to nationals.

Oh, and it can take the UB forever to award credits. I've never submitted anything, but they took months to give everyone the 200 credits for selling out the screenings.

What, Safe? You're missing your tools? Oh that's terrible! Do you want me to help you look for them?

Say what you will about me, Safe.

But I've NEVER messed around with your tools!

That's just somethin' ya don't do!

Keep an eye on 'em, especially TRM. I think he's been eyeing the condiments again.
