"Phoenix." Because I've always like that myth, and consider it inspirational. Runners up:

"The Argo" (Jason's ship from Greek myth; also has a personal meaning)
"Excellector" (cuz I think it sounds cool)
"The Enterprise" (am I a geek or what?)

"Mwah ha ha ha...mine is an evil laugh. Now die."

May have been on the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Sophie (Because I love Jack Aubrey's adventures)

The Ship (So I could confuse Alliance in a petty, entertaining way. "Captain, The Ship is on sensors." - "What ship?" - "The Ship!" - "No, what ship?")

Titus Alone (Yay! Gormenghast! And I really liked the third book, seeing it as prototype new wave Brit SF)

The Bertram Wooster (Bertie for short)

The Halo Jones (After the best ever female space-adventurer comic book, by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons)

The River Tam (Because I love her. Though this might make Alliance a little troublesome...)

"If you can keep your head whilst others... eurgh! Ack! I've spilt my ink! Ugh! Ink on my trousers! Agh! Ink on my shirt! My only hope! The window! Aieeeeee!" (Falls to death)

"Fiddler's Green" or "Sleipnir." Or "nothing Valuable Onboard." Or "For a Good Time, Call Nancy." No, better go back to "Fiddler's Green" or "Sleipnir."
