Perhaps his Warp stores are a front to launder is drug/mafioso money?
Could the cap be in trouble now? Or could they use the real life events as inspiration for a new series.
Joss, we want to know!
My local crack shop, Enteprise 1701/Sci-Fi city just hired a new comics manager. I was just talking to him for the first time today, dude's awesome! Filled me in on all I have been missing in comics lately! Thanks , Steve! Apparently Serenty is selling off the shelves, 12 copies of #2 today alone.
I happily bought my Inara covered issue #1
"Jesus saves, everyone else takes damage" -tee shirt some girl was wearing at Megacon.

I live in Edmonton and my husband is a big comic collector and Firefly fan. I can vouch that this Darryl is what Nathan says he is (and he is owner or part owner of the place, not just an employee). A lot of comic collectors are ecstatic to know that he will be experiencing reprecussions for the way he acts. We whole-heartedly support the boycott of Warp One. Way to go for speaking out Nathan!

Ditto- I have lived here in Edmonton for many many years. And Daryl- an OWNER of Warp- has always been a royal arse. He has done things like announce a sale on the radio and when I arrive twenty minutes later he refused to honour it on anyything he advertised it for. He used to have the staff take a $10 item and mark each one of those items for $1 higher so that if you didnt over pay $1 you would be stuck overpaying $5 if you came to buy it later. The horror stories go on and on and they are all true. But he has been like this for the last 15 years and people still pay overpriced prices for overpriced things. Personally- if a business man has no respect for me then I have no use for him. As sad as I am that Nathan had to meet 'Squinty Minty' as he is known locally I am glad to hear that Nathan wasnt blind to the fact that the guy was, is, and always has been a crook- in fact my only regret is that there wasn't a engine intake fan nearby.
Well I sculpt and make toys all day. You can get free online sculpting lessons on my site.

I went into Warp to pick up the Serenity comics and noticed that the cover with Mal was selling for $10 bucks! This was when they first came out. I couldn't believe it. When I asked him about it, I was told that was the price so I went elswhere and paid cover price. Consider the Boycott on.

Just for everyones information, aside from it being Nathan as the recipient of Darryl's attitude, that is how Darryl acts every day. He was once described in an article on Warp as "the one eyed pirate behind the counter trying to gouge you for everything your worth". Oh, and Darryl is one of the 3 owners of the Warp 1, 2, and 3 stores in Edmonton, as well as Whyte Knight, not an employee.
As far as the overpriced comics, Warp does that on purpose. When any new popular merchandise comes out Warp inflates the price to discourage people from buying it. Once all the other stores sell out the only place left to by it from is Warp, so they inflate the price even more and gouge whoever is unlucky enough to buy it from one of the other stores that sold the merchandise at fair value. They do it all the time. They also reprice books that are still in print well above their labeled price which is technically illegal under Canadian law, but no one has ever called them on it because of their status as a 'collectibles' store and not a book store.
A side effect of their pricing policy is they have developed a rep as the place to find hard to find items, which is because no one would buy half the shit from them because they are so overpriced. Unfortunately Warp has enjoyed a near monopoly in Edmonton in their market, luckily that is starting to change as some new collectible and gaming stores are opening and gaining ground.
Anyways, later

No. Nathan posted on that same board and asked Browncoats to stand down. A long time ago.
Wow, this is ancient. I'd forgotten about it.

It is ancient isn't it? I have been watching Drive on the net and that was what popped up when I googled Nathan Fillion. Just curious what's on the horizon?
