What would you name a ship?

I'd call mine Shenhua or Ning.
Shenhua cuz of my other obsession (the Shenmue videogame series) and Ning cuz it is chinese for Serenity ;).

I think mine would have to be "The Leaky Spleen".
Just what does a Spleen do anyway?

Hmmm..I don't know what a spleen does, but I remember when I was young, I got mono (don't ever get that, it's awful) and they were worried that my spleen would get infected and/or rupture. It was not a fun experience.
Can't think of what I'd name a ship. Anything I think would be interesting has already been taken: Icarus, The Nutmeg of Consolation, The Flying Dutchman, The Intrepid.
Guess I could always call it The Ploion, which is Greek for "ship".

Yay! My first post at FFF! Let there be joy and celebration; let jubilation reign! Pleased to meetchyall...
Though I'm partial towards sci-fi classics like the Nostromo, some of my all time favourites come from Iain M. Banks' 'Culture' series. For anyone who is not familiar with it, it is basically set in a verse where humanoids of a megaculture spend their time high on drugs and meddling in 'foreign affairs', while AI machines of various sizes tend to menial tasks. Among these minds are colossal (when I say big, i mean BIG!) self-sufficient ships, who often have nothing better to do with their time than to gossip and practice sarcasm.
This wit shows itself in some of the funniest (self-named) ships that sci-fi lit has ever seen, including:

Oooow, at the OB we once had a magnificent battle between: Satan's Ship, The Catastrophic Bloodbath (led by fearless artiste 11th), and the Inappropriately Timed Nakedness.

Having named a few ships in the RPG days of my youth, I recall that my cargo vessel was named the Photon Duck.
Other names I'd consider:
Maltese Peregrine
Excalibur Rex
Runnin' on Empty
Summer Wind
