Chuck me on there too, though I might be willing to wait for one of those huge UK quad posters...
Okay, I would totally be willing to wait...But, I might get the one sheet too...

Simon: "It means more out here. It's all I have..."

Funny you should mention that. I went to the theater yesterday and walking down the hall, I stopped dead and stared at the wall, agape. My dad's like "what?" I just pointed to the Serenity poster on the wall and said "I want." My family collects movie posters because we have a big and tall room to hang them in. The theater can't sell them. They have to give them away or throw them away. Usually employees get first dibs, but I want to put my name in.

Dangit, I don't make it into theatres all that often. I wonder if any of my students next year will work at the local theatre.

River: "So we'll integrate non-progressional evolution theory with God's creation of Eden. Eleven inherent metaphoric parallels already there. Eleven. Important number. Prime number. One goes into the house of eleven eleven times, but always comes out one. Noah's ark is a problem."

There are a ton of the posters available on ebay. Yes, some of them are from theatre employees who stole them trying to make a quick buck. But some of them are from reputable businesses who bought the posters from Universal with the intent to sell them. It looks as though one can be had for $25, though I didn't check the shipping. Thankfully the 5 years I spent working at a theatre made me enough friendships that I have one on my wall now.
If you don't like ebay, there are a couple of web sites that sell them. Allposters.com and ricksmovie.com are both sites that I have bought from in the past. Neither have the poster yet, but certainly will in the next few weeks.
You can go the route of asking at the theatre, though it's likely that an employee already had a claim on any posters. I will tell you that Universal typically sends 4 to a normal sized theatre, so it's worth asking the manager. And even though they aren't supposed to sell them, don't be too surprised if they try to sell on to you. If it's worth what they're asking, buy it. If not, report them to their corporate office.
