New Firefly fan

Having heard about Firefly, but never having watched it, I posted a thread here a lttle while back to get some info on the show and upcoming movie. I took a poster's advce and bought the DVD set.
I am now about halfway through the series, and I just had to pop back in here to say, "I'm hooked!" The writing is great; you really care about the characters, and I love the humour that is thrown in. (I just watched the episode where River becomes terrified of the shepherd's untamed hair and it made me laugh out loud). Anyway, I'm not going to stick around too long just now, cause I don't want to get "spoiled", but I'll be back again when I'm done watching them all. Can't wait for the movie!

As my fellow Browncoats have noted above, you will become hopelessly obsessed with Firefly as the rest of us have. It's a curse (because the show was cancelled) and a blessing (because it's the best thing on TV in 30 years - REALLY!) Apparently you haven't even seen Out of Gas yet(one of my favorites) so you are in for a major treat. Anyway, welcome to this land. We are all here for you if we can help in any way.

What you call "positional asphyxia" I've always just considered "numb butt".
