My one previous public singing event was in Edinburgh about five years ago. I'm afraid the restraining order still applies.
I must admit not having a good singing voice is top of my "If I could fix one thing about myself" list. It's either that or my indecisiveness. No, definitely the singing thing.
Hmm.

I'm confused - apart from the totally inadequate description of Buffy, this seems to contradict with this post: http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=11683
So far I can see, Buffy is just a teen drama (totally wrong anyway) so is beneath you in some way and yet Harry Potter is OK? Now I'm a great fan of those books, but here we are at book 6 and he's not even as old as Buffy was in Season One.
Addictive though the books may be there's no getting away from the fact they're kid's books and fan though I am, all that talk of "snogging" in the last book got a little tiresome...
Anyhow, really just curious : biggrin: I 've been a lurker to date but your posts really got me thinking about someone can dismiss Buffy as childish (if I read you correctly) and yet praise Harry Potter - so here I am, all official and ready to join the ever-growing band of Browncoats!

No it`s not that it`s childish, it`s just that it`s maybe nota as believable (I know that sound awful as Wizards, Dragons, etc. don`t exist) but it was the whole premise of the Buffy Series - being based around a vampire/monster infested school/town - The film of Buffy, had the right mix, it was more believable that it was a one off that Buffy got involved with killing a vampire, but then the series just seamed to take that too far
(This is all in my opinion, and I`m not going to talk much about it anyway - nedless to say, I watched the beginning episodes of Buffy & a few inbetween the series and it just never had the same appeal as Firefly or the reading of a Harry Potter book/watching the films)
with regards,
Darin (Zol.)

Wow, that's really interesting that you preferred the film, especially given that Joss was "heartbroken" by it.
Not especially convinced by your argument (such as it is) but since a) I've wandered off-topic (bad newbie!
) and b) you don't wish to discuss it any further I shall leave it at that...for now!
No doubt our paths will cross again in the tangled web of the Whedonverse...
