Personally I find it very reassuring that the fanbase for Firefly is different than that to Buffy/Angel. Not that I don't love those programmes (and I do, oh so much, which is why I had those lyrics by heart already) but Firefly stands alone, it doesn't need either show to back it up.
Granted, we see the same creator's fingerprints all over them but we have to remember that Buffy was only a cult hit, not a mass market one. Serenity needs to meet the mainstream to be considered a success and I have this gut feeling it's going to do so like a thunderbolt.
Oh, and the Browncoats board is back up so you can stop singing now. I'm tone deaf too Zol, I wouldn't worry about it.
