But hasn't this discovery also called into question whether or not Pluto is a planet? So if Pluto isn't a planet, then this new one would be the ninth planet, so they should call it Pluto. But if Pluto does keep its planet classification then we'll have to think of new name. Any major Roman gods not taken yet? There's Apollo but you wouldn't want the coldest planet to be called "Apollo". "Hercules"? Demi-god but still, he's got a high Q-rating.

I am amazed by how far off the ecliptic plane this new planet is. How could that happen? Its almost like it is trying to hide..

You know, I am laughing up my sleeve pretty hard right now.

Some students of astronomy noted that gravity effects indicated there HAD to be a planet there, and their own name for it was Pan-Horus.

NASA, for years and years, told them they were 'smoking something' and where to stuff it, etc etc.

I also find it quite amusing that they were likely going to 'bury' this, but some enterprising little hacker collected those beans and spilled em.

Gee, NASA, after wiping all that egg off your face, you might admit that we were right after all, yes ?

I agree. Persephone would be a great name. (And yes I know why. I LOVE Greek mythlogy.)Plus, I think it should have a girl name since all the planets but Venus are named after men.

I am sure the Greek myth was the original inspiration, but my reference is to a very famous science fiction novel.
