Has anyone else noticed that there is not one image of Book in either of the trailers so far? Is he not in the movie at all, or are they just not showing him.

Granted the show really revolved around Rivers story, but I know that many of us Firefly fans would like to know Books story too. Just think it's weird to totally leave him out.

I'll tell you but be warned that it is a spoiler so don't highlight or read unless you don't really want to know.

Book is no longer part of the crew when Serenity begins. He is a preacher in a settlement called Haven. He is only in the movie for like 10 minutes and we don't really learn anything about Book's past by the end of the movie.

He's still in the movie as I've seen photos of him in it, but so far he hasn't been in the trailers. Not sure why.

Now that's what I call a trailer! It's the first trailer I've seen that looks like it would really mean anything to non-Firefly fans. It looks like they're actually trying to market the movie to non-fans! This is very good. Much as the Shepard is one of my favorite characters and I'm crushed that his non-shepardly past will remain a mystery after September 30th, his face in the trailer will not put asses in seats.

It was on the Sci-Fi channel last night. I burned it(along with Serenity pts 1, and 2) on dvd, and have watched it about 30 times. Hey if it's the only new Joss Whedon material I'm gonna see on tv, I'm gonna make it count.

Many of us think we learn an awful lot about Book's past, actually...through the lens of the operative.

You're right, that is the first new Joss material we've seen on TV for a long time... Too bad they messed up the gorram aspect ratio. Harumph!
