I know this was posted over on the Browncoats board, but I didn't see anything about it posted here yet. I found it on the Slayerverse website.

Personally, I like the new shot of River they used. I think it looks a lot better than the other poster. The only thing I DON'T like about the new one is the lack of the crew pictures underneath the word "Serenity". I really think they looked good there. But all in all, I think I like this poster better.

I agree and disagree. I think the shot of River and the poster overall looks great. And yes, while it sucked that the whole crew isn't on there, in the original, the latter looked slapped on at a last moment's notice. Really ruined the balance and harmony of the poster.

Personally I can't wait to own one.

Totally agree, last one looked a little tacky...this one is much nice (BTW, the final, final version is now floating around online - ie without River's extra hand!)

As I said when this was posted in the images section: BOOO!!!!! HISS!!!!

The thing I liked about the original "beta" poster was how thoroughly creepy River looked. It really begged those questions we as Browncoats have been asking for the last 3 years: just who is this girl? What was the academy trying to do with her brain? What business has she got with firearms (especially given her proficiency with them)?

But this new poster has her looking "hot". River never looked this hot--ever. That's not River, to my way of thinking. That's Summer. And that's not what the movie's about.

I agree, partially, with InevitableBetrayal's sentiment.

I think I prefer Creepy River better than Glamour Shots River.

I didn't see it as all that glamoury, more sort of dark and dangerousy, like them female spies from James Bond who assinate the president of whereever in their evening dress...
Shes got that hard edge to here look, sort of "you know you dont wanna be messing with me, uhuh..."

Yep, I agree, River/Summer isn't my bag but she does look seriously hot in this. Can Nathan ever look bad, this poster makes me want to track him down and have him on toast! If only more men looked like that *sigh*

River's pose reminds me of Ripley with a dress instead of overalls.
