Yeah,
I am going to have to go back and carefully look at the language menues to find all the commentaries. It's kind of like an Easter Egg hunt!
I agree the menue music sucks. But I do like the images.

I think the music is what turned me off most. If the "twangy" guitar sound had been there perhaps with a few voice overs from what ever epi you happened to be viewing also playing in the back ground, it would have been perfect. but i think the dvd was kinda a thrown together endevour lol
still shiny though

The menus don't bother me, I kinda like them, but I don't like the music it's just annoying for some reason, and its louder than the episodes on my dvd player atleast. But my menu screen is a little messed up, sometimes it doesntt load the episode menu screen properly or something I don't know...its strange...

Oh yah, quite a lot from PowerDVD to my computer sound system, & annoyingly so from the jukebox through my audio system. Fortunately, one can chapter-forward past the loudest section -- the Firefly clips sequence after the 20th Century Fox screen. Unfortunately, it takes a second or two for that sequence to load. To reduce my irritation, I always cue up the next ep before leaving Firefly. Of course, this only avoids a noisy part if the next ep is on the same disc.

Initially I thought my DVDs were broke, they seem so laggy through transitions and such. Both my DVD sets are the same though.
I dont mind the music or look of the menus at all though.

My Buffy dvd's lag in a similar manner, just not nearly for as LONG.

I like the "War Stories" music just fine, but the font on those menus is ugly and out of place. The glowing stencil that ended each episode is also missed.

The music doesn't bother me (and I appreciate that on the individual episode level there is none--it's rare), but the technical crappiness does. That lag always make me think the disc is sticking (and one time it did), and the selection feature (you can't click on the item, you have to find the circle that never on the same side) annoys me mightily.
But all this pales to second season Buffy. I had a scratchy disc once that I wanted to just get through an episode of, and it would go okay if I just ff'ed through any sticking points, but there is absolutely nothing you can do if it sticks during menu transition. Ends up "What's my line pt. 2" was the final Buffy episode I ever saw, after I'd seen the rest of all seven seasons. Argh.

re the dvd problems re is it just me - Crush and only Crush will not play on my DVD player - while all other episodes of Buffy 5-disc4 do. Crush will play on my laptop and on the HMV player where I purcahsed it. By not play - it would constantly stick and it had no sound...and the image was all smeary.
