I know some of you will disagree. I can't help the way I feel. I am an adamant Firefly fan and can't stand seeing it treated like the red-headed stepchild as I have mentioned before. I have watched SciFi most of the week to see how much they are advertising. For example, last night between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm they had one preview at 8:00 pm! The night before the show premieres!

Tonight as I watched a rerun of SG1 at 5:00 pm, there was ONE preview! The ONLY reason Firefly is on SciFi right now is because Universal owns the BDM.

A fellow coworker and I were talking about SG1 today, about what a YAWN it is. Every week they go to a different planet, meet all these people who speak PERFECT English, have a crisis and go home. YAWN Again. Tonight Carter could have ended the crisis 15 minutes into the show with a bullet to crazyman's head but failed to do so. blah, blah, blah, same ol, same ol.

Why do all of these so-called intelligent people fail to see how fresh and unique Firefly is? I am so tired of seeing our show treated like a second-hand citizen, kicked around and unappreciated. Okay, so I am nuts when it comes to Firefly. I will grant you that.

Dude, neither Book's nor Mal's introduction ran with the original broadcast of the pilot; since it was the show that gave all the data the voice-over intros substituted for, it would have been redundant to run them together.

However... Thank you for griping anyway, since it's a solice to know the show is actually being broadcast back east.

Why? Because I'm sitting out here in California, waiting for the 7PM broadcast, but neiher the TV guide channel nor the digital menu show Firefly coming on at 7:00 PST.

Geez, they just ran a spot add for Battlestar: Galactica coming up next!

I'm praying that it just means someone forgot to change last weeks promo schedule...

I've got my tape ready anyway. (Got the box set, but I can always use loaner copies...)

Just hope I didn't get a certain old friend to set her Tivo for nothing...

these showings are from the DVDs not the Fox airings

but they will be in order! and ALL episodes will be aired-- I gather interspersed with some promos, trailers, etc YAH!!!

hope the west coast got it aired!

Also, I can kill you with my brain.

What they ran could not be from the dvd, since it was not in widescreen. Not only did they run a full-screen version, they also broke for commercials in some weird spots. And, unless I am crazy, there was some extra music thrown into a few scenes. Of course, it is possible that music was from the original broadcast of "Serenity," but I can't be sure because I never had a tape of that.

Well, I found out what happened here in sunny Cal. It seems that the West coat broadcast was at 4:00 PM, Four O'Clock in the FREAKING AFTERNOON ON A FRIDAY when every bit of posting on the web said it was showing at 7:00 PM ET/PT!

Instead they showed it at the same real-time on both coasts!

(And yes, I had thought to checked my digitial cable menu yesterday, And no, it didn't show Firefly at 7, but my cable provider is notorious for not updating changes in regular line-ups on specialty channels; a screwed-up listing was par for the course, or so I thought.)

Luckily, my friend with the Tivo had it set for the right time, and, further, has informed me that next week both halves of the Pilot will be broadcast starting at 3:00 PT, so I can still get a complete set of loaner copies (plus whatever ads/promos for Serenity may be attached.

Still -- It's a gorram bummer.

Gonna have to go out and find me a cat to kick.

I'm beside myself on the commerical thing. On one side, I don't need to see it for time, just enjoyment, and the other, I do on account that non-Firefly people won't see it b/c it was advertised properly.

I think we have to the advertising ourselves by word of mouth like we always have.

I watch Sci-Fi channel, but mostly at random unles I see an advertised show/movie that seems pretty good. Otherwise, I'm usually on Comedy Central if anything.

The format and cutting is like on Angel on TNT. It's weird and formatted yes, but it's all there...just cut a bit strange for ad placement...I hope it doesn't include time cut like on The Simpsons reruns.

They didn't trim the episode for time, did they? And since it was Serenity P1, what was the end of it? I can't tell on my DVD version ^_^

Well it was what I expected. And yes we are the redheaded stepchild. We are not going to have anything like new episodes. We will get the chance to show off our show to other folks who might have missed it. So think of it as better than nothing recuiting ad.

Am I happy? No but it can be the start of something.
