Apparently, some people made disparaging remarks about the new "Serenity" poster on the official board, so our Captain took it upon himself to set 'em straight, as follows:

"Morning. Just looking at the thread of people complaining about the
poster. I like it. I love it. Honestly, I don't know where some of these
folks get their ideas about what's good or bad. Or the "expert opinions"
they get to confirm their stand. I love it.
Be well, all. 73 days till Serenity. I can't wait! Everybody go see it and
have a great time! Except the people that don't like the poster. That'll
teach Universal for putting up a poster that is too conventional, too
Hollywood, too revolting, and doesn't tell you anything about the movie
except for who's in it, that it's sci fi, action, and it has something to
do with a target, an assasin, a rebel, a fugitive, a code, spaceships,
guns, and a firefly. Curse them for leaving you in the dark!

Wonder why some Browncoats have a problem w/ the poster. I like the poster. I like the tag line. I like everything about it quite honestly.

People are people though, and they will nitpick. Got to expect that. Guess the captain just walked in to a bad thread.

Hope he doesn't allow this to keep him from popping in from time to time.

Well, you might remember a sci-fi movie just a few years back based on a 'Fox' TV show also used the tagline "Fight The Future" so there's a bit of deja vu.

But always nice to hear from one of our BDH's (although I wish they'd comment a bit more on the nice things we say rather than feeling obliged to respond to criticism).

Oh, and I hope there's one fan poster in particular that he saw. I'm sure he'd approve.

This was put up in the Blue Sun Room a little while ago. The faces are deliberately moderately badly done as it was supposed to have been made by a marketing exec who are lazy and inattentive to detail. I did do a better version but figured that the exec wouldn't have bothered.

That has got to be, without a doubt, the most freaky thing I've seen today.
Is it even more disturbing that the River mock-up looks almost appropriate to me?!

AAAAH!!
That is REALLY creepy...like Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka kinda creepy.
Nathan as Zoe is particularly scary.
