Oooh. So sad. I will miss him. Scotty was my favourite on the original Star Trek.

My favorite Scotty moment was in TNG when he was advising Geordie on how to handle Captains.

"... You dinna tell him how much time it would really take?!? .... How do you expect them to see you as a miracle worker if you tell them how much time it's really gonna take?!?"

Words to that effect anyway. I roared laughing that Scotty pulled to wool over Kirk's eyes for all those years.

*raising glass* Here's to you, Jimmy.

Myself and a couple of friends had the supreme luck of running into Mr. Doohan at a bar during a ST covention in NYC some years back. We had a drink with him, and he was all funny and friendly. A sweet guy.

Here's to ya, James!

I'm sure he knew how many people loved Scotty and were inspired by him.
One of my favourite ST:TNG episodes features Scotty and I sometimes employ what I call "The Scotty Principle". ("... You dinna tell him how much time it would really take?!? .... How do you expect them to see you as a miracle worker if you tell them how much time it's really gonna take?!?")

Beam him up, indeed.
Thanks James.
