Okay, so there's this nifty LiveJournal community called the Wednesday 100, where the mod posts a fic challenge every Wednesday, and folks write "drabbles" (100 word stories) in answer to that challenge all day long.

I've been thinking that this is a nifty keen idea, so after an informal poll, I created:

Only diff is, you can write 100 - 1000 words (because I for one always have trouble with drabbles just because, well--hard to tell a story in only 100 words for me!). And the challenges will be issued every Friday, since Friday is "Firefly" Friday anyway...

Anyhow, if you've got an LJ, you join a community by clicking on "userinfo" and there's a link to join right at the top. Then to post to the community, you just post like you normally would from http://www.livejournal.com/portal, only instead of posting to your own journal, you choose ff_friday from the drop down.

I figure a lot of folks who haven't written Firefly fanfic before will chime in, and I personally find I write all sorts of weird and diff. things from challenges that I wouldn't just up and write on my own...

I too have a few codes if anybody wants to play in the ff_fridays RP and needs a code. This is an incredibly fun challenge every Friday. You should do it. And not too time consuming either, just need to do one short post a week on the current topic.

There are a couple of Firefly Role play journals at Live journals too. I play Mal in one. And we would more than welcome anyone who wants to play too. Have to take a bit part though, all the main charaters are taken. Or come just read the role play at http://www.livejournal.com/community/firefly_rp
