Just a heads up for all you Serenity clippings collectors. In SFX #133 - August 2005 there's a lovely article on Serenity, some not so new pictures and a spoiler free review of the un-finished Serenity. I've just got my subscriber one, so i'm, guessing it'll be available in shops later this week :D

Yep got mine today too - theres some nice pics of the hover vehicle with Joss directing - that`s a new pic (just a shame it`s acorss the middle of the page - I`m sure someone will be able to do a good scan at some stage)

I think SFX need to be reminded that the UK has had 2 screenings already with screenings of the *finished* film in August sometime at locations throughout the UK.

Remember to keep sending in praise for Firefly & Serenity Letters to SFX.

very positive i think. well as positive as an early draft can be. compares it to the wrath of kahn, which is always a good sign, as that was a damn good star trek movie.

does voice concerns over audiences needing firefly backstory and this movie not having enough appeal for a wider audience. understandable, but i dont think it'll be a huge worry.

I think the concern over non-firefly fans to be engaged by this movie is quite valid, the crew took 14 episodes for us to truely know them, Ok there are some good episodes that give an insight into the characters (Serenity the Pilot Episode, Out of Gas, War Stories, Ariel ... I should go on but I would get to 14 )

My slogan for the push for Serenity is "Watch FIREFLY on DVD now! & prepare yourself for SERENITY in Cinemas" - which is a pretty much valid.

The 2nd Preview Scrreening I attended, had quite a lot of non-fans from different backgrounds and I`m not sure everybody got the film, I think what would be nice would be for FOX to allow use of their Firefly matterial for a trailer/buildup to Serenity - A sort of `this is how it was` and then towards the end `and this is now` with the trailer. I think Starwars & Aliens(the sequels) and some other films have done this sort of thing, a sort of flashback for the trailer to show what the TV series was like, the friendship & family that was built up to make them a good crew.

Sorry , rambled on abit there, I would love to see Universal/UIP promote teh mobvie alongside Firefly though, as I think this would really work to Both Universals & Foxs advantage to work together.

Probably never happen, but then again as they say in the article, "the TV series as cancelled, this movie should not have been made" (quote may be out slightly)

By the way, the review claims to be spoiler free, but that's not entirely true. There's no specifics, but things are mentioned that real spoiler-phobes would not want to hear, so be warned anyone who cares about such things...
