Must have TV:
- BBC's Coupling
And I loved the Chris Isaak show on SHO, why do they cancel everything I like? I'm too wierd I guess.
Some movies for those boring nights:
- High fidelity, light comedy with John Cusack.
- Ruorin Kenshin (OVA), not the series. Very intense for an anime.
- The Player, The long goodbye, hmm, well, anything from Robert Altman except the Gingerbread man.
- Clerks, if you feel your job sucks.
- Blade runner, stylish sci-fi.
...
bye, krajo

I bought my freeview box just for Sportsnight on abc1 - every time I go to the States I look out for the DVD. Found it once, only for them to say the box was on the shelf, but the discs weren't there!

This is a pretty long thread. I read through most of it and saw that most of the good shows have been covered....LOST....24.....Farscape
I wanted to add a few to the list. A couple are older shows from sci-fi and I don't think are avalible on DVD.
First Wave - I think you can catch that on repeats on sci-fi
The Invisible Man - I havent seen it since it was cancled by sci-fi but I thought it was a very funny show, similar humor to Firefly
Rescue Me - Its not sci-fi and is on FX but its a damn good show. Its a VERY edgy show if you like shows pushing the boundries of whats allowed on network TV.
Desperate Housewives - if you've seen it, you know why I recommend it. Its funny, amazing cast, and mysteries that keep you guessing.
The Dead Zone - Anthony Michael Hall's show on USA. It's an awesome twist on the Stephen King book.
Monk - I've only seen the first season on DVD but this show is very funny and quite original. I think it's in it's 4th season on USA.
Boston Legal - I can't wait for this show to come back to ABC this fall. It got a shortened season but it's gotta be one of the funniest shows thats not specifically a comedy.
I couldn't find anything on this thread that I did not like. A few I haven't seen but thats what DVDs are for

Do I get my Sports Night decoder ring now??
Sorry, actually you don't... Dan claims that it is Poker and Dana corrects him with horse racing. Damned if that isn't my all time favorite episode...

More votes for Scrubs, Arrested Develoment and Carnivale.
There's not alot of good shows still going that you don't seem to watch already. But Lost, Veronica Mars and the 4400 are all good.

Just buy it from Amazon - that's what I did - along with other stuff like the Tick and Wonderfalls which you can't get over here . . .

While on the topic of awesome television, I thought I'd mention that SciFi has a Twilight Zone marathon every 4th of July. I'm watching it right now, as is my yearly custom.
11:30 EDT is "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet", with Bill Shatner.

Roswell only the first 2 seasons are available in the US/Canada, season 3 is coming this summer. I really enjoyed it.
Earth 2 DVDs coming this month (but beware, the DVD is out of order, just as the airing was, check around as there's a few different orders that people recommend).
I enjoy Smallville. First three seasons on DVD now, fourth season in September.
I don't believe anyone's mentioned The 4400. I bought the Season One 2-DVD set and enjoyed it. It's no Firefly, but it's good. The second season is currently airing. Summer Glau had a guest episode (201).
If you like The 4400, try Taken, available now on DVD. Or vice versa. Both are also fun for me 'cause they were filmed in Vancouver, so I see all the landmarks. The main base in The 4400 is a music school where I took Cello lessons for many years. It's just weird seeing it on the screen.
Joan of Arcadia.
I second (or third, or whatever) Dead Like Me (first season on DVD, second season coming out this summer) and Wonderfalls...
None of these are as good as Firefly. But some are pretty enjoyable.
