Good fantasy movie, like Labrinth or Dark Crystal. Has that Terry Gilliam social commentary to it while still appealing to kids and adults. And it has Sean Connery! Anyone else dig the film?

Definatly! One of the more underrated flicks of all time, imo.

I personally think this is one of the best kid's movies ever made. Everything about it is so perfect. I think that the sfx in that movie is far more impressive than most of the fx in other flicks like it.

With the exception of TWELVE MONKEYS, I think that Terry Gilliam is a flawless filmmaker, and ever one of his movies is perfect.

And wow! Hey! What's this thing suddenly coming towards me very fast? Very very fast. So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like ... ow ... ound ... round ... ground! That's it! That's a good name - ground! I wonder if it will be friends with me?

Sorry, thought I wandered into a chrisisall thread...

Time Bandits is (as far as I can remember) an excellent movie...I saw it when I was much younger, and have been afraid to see it again, because most films that I liked as a child, through the lens of adulthood, just don't look so good...A good example...ET...I just can't stand it now...and I wish to God, I had just left well enough alone and remembered it as a charming film that I loved as a kid...

Kaylee: "What's so damn important about being proper? It don't mean nothing out here in the black."
Simon: "It means more out here. It's all I have..."

I love Time Bandits as well! We had it on tape when I was growing up, so it was in constant rotation (along with The Last Unicorn). It's so imbedded in my brain that I don't even have to watch it anymore....even though I do own the DVD and watch it more than is probably healthy.

I forget who said they were afraid to watch it again, but I say you should definitely check it out. You'll enjoy it as much as when you were a kid, and there's stuff you'll get now that you kinda missed before.

Terry Gilliam is one of my favorite directors. Brazil broke my heart when I saw it, but it's still one of my faves.

Time Bandits is definitely a fave of mine, along with Brazil and most of Gilliam's other films. I was sad to see that "The Man who killed Don Quixote" died on set, but apparently there's hope for it yet. I can't believe you mentioned "The Last Unicorn"! I was obsessed with that when I was younger. Granted I haven't seen it in awhile, but I'm sure it still ranks as one of the all time great cartoons. Scary, funny, romantic, sad...classic.

Jimmy Bond: You can't shoot me! I have a very low threshold of death. My doctor says I can't have bullets enter my body at any time.

In case you had not heard, 'The Last Unicorn' has been in production, I believe as a live action movie.
