Yep saw that. After seeing the pre-screening I figured that. It was a hard PG-13 though. Definitely some minor R territory though that might get cut from the final cut.

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

Oh I thought it was an easy PG-13 when I saw it,
they avoided having much blood or bad language, and less nudity than they put on TV.

Someone thought this meant they should push for an early release before the kids go back to school...but I don't know if Universal will be taking that into account.

Like what? I didn't see anything that looked like it could have been rated R.

Highlight spoiler field

Select to view spoiler:

Blood and violence at the end especially blood dripping from axe and the facial wounds that Mal had. I remember a larger blood splatter in the beginning when Mal shoots the man they left behind after the Reaver attack.

The big impaling spoiler, as well as all the putting swords into people, and a few of the fight moves at the end between Mal and the Operative were especially brutal.

But I agree, I don't really think it's an R movie, I do think it is a PG-13 movie (it will be 14A in Canada).

It looked like a regular blood pack from my POV. But most of the violence is quick and blurry. This is definatly not Bourne Identity or a slasher flik on the violence or bloodshed level.

I expected an 'R' rating just for the intensity of the movie. PG-13 is a good rating though, it'll bring more people in.

We would need a lot more skin and gouting of blood to get an R rating.
