OK, my justification is that I did pay for Billy's autograph at LFACC1, it just took another year to get my posed photo! What a sweetie though! And hooray for us for not buying anything (autographs still don't count, right?).

Guess we were lucky in that we didn't go there purely for Adam/Serenity Booth so had plenty of other things to keep us occupied (hence the wandering off...)

No, he didn't. Apparently it's because a known stalker had been spotted at Earls Court.

The new controversy is that people who turned up on Sunday (assuming their ticket was below a certain number) are being offered a free autograph - provided they gave their details whilst at the event yesterday. This has upset the Saturday people who aren't being offered the same.

UIP have NOT dropped Serenity they have agreed to sponsor the fan table at Memorabilia in Birmingham at the NEC. You may recall from myu earlier posts that I mentioned that Showmasters were not dealing with the people at UIP regarding the previews. The rep from UIP knew nothing about the sign up available at LFACC as it was nothing to do with her.

The tour of previews is going ahead in August.

I sent an e-mail to UIP expressing my disappointment, about the missing Serenity stand, and enquiring as to what had occurred. I received this response today:

>>Please accept our sincere apologies for any disappointment caused because
of the lack of material or information available for SERENITY at the London
Film & Comic Con.

We actually did have the international trailer ready to premiere, but due
to lack of communication or information from the organisers we were unable
to deliver it.

The organisers had also offered us a booth - but only last week - and given
the short turnaround time to produce sufficient good materials for display,
we decided to decline. I'd rather do something properly, or not at all.

The information about registering on a data base for forthcoming screenings
has never come from this office. No such screenings are yet confirmed, but
please feel free to stay in touch and I will advise if/when there's any
news. If they do go ahead, then I can assure you that all fans will have
a fair chance to secure tickets.<<

I feel that this event, has almost dealt with people fraudulantly - If Adam had also not been there, I would have been extremly angry and demanded my money back for getting me to an event on false pretences

The european trailer will be available soon, which is good news for those who don`t mind seeing more bits from the finished product, maybe not for those who want to remain spoiler free (but you can`t win with some people)

August will be a great time to be a fan, with the Fantable at Memorabelia with a Fantastic Shindig in the evening (August 13th/14th - see www.browncoatevents.com for more details) and then of course there will be these screenings planned, what more could you ask for?

See everyone sooner rather than later, I`ll bring the rope so everybody has to stick together rather than beeing picked off one by one by Startrek fans

UIP are completely behind this movie and will be paying for the fan table at Memorabilia, supplying us with free merchandise, allowing us to screen trailers and supporting us every step of the way.

We have been in negotiations with UIP since November and have every faith in their commitement to and belief in this movie.

I have sent an email back to UIP to ask when they turned down the booth. If SM had advanced notice, and didn't bother to tell us, then I am not going to be a happy browncoat.

Zol - AtomicJumbo, ILoveSummer, Scud and I are attending Memorabilia on the Saturday. Unfortunatly it is highly unlikely that we will be able to attend the Shindig . We would be happy to help out on the stall or wander around handing out flyers. I will have a rummage around and see if I have any items to donate to the stall.

Sorry for those people who literally went to see Adam & the Booth and weren't interested in anything else. But for some of us there were plenty of other interesting guests to go meet - so that's what we did.

Just this once, the Star Trek fans are innocent!
