Hi there!

I've been hankerin' for these shirts for quite a time, and I think I've got something that might make the process a bit easier. I'm not sure whether this'll be any help to you, but when your Comcast site was up, I was able to save several of the designs.

I currently have - easily available for sendin' via e-mail - The Fighting Elves, Rowdy Play (only the simple front design, with the gun and characters), Soldier, Serenity (the red-and-yellow circle with characters and text) and semi-inverted-color Serenity (for use on light or black t-shirts, respectively), and the "Firefly" Chinese characters and the green-tinted Serenity image that goes with 'em.

They're all in .JPG form, except for the white-background-black-text Serenity design. I can't recall whether they were like that on the site, or if I MADE them like that for some fool reason.

If you want 'em, I can mail them right on over. But I remember you saying something about totally re-doing them so that they looked nicer, so I'm not sure how much help they'd be.

In ANY case, I'd be glad to provide you with them. Just say the word!

Yours truly,
Patrick G.

Also adding my name to state I'm VERY interested in a number of these shirts.

When I initially read this thread and saw the pics, I was in awe and very excited, then I noticed the date on the original post - and quickly scrolled down here to see what was going on.

Anyway, glad there is still a chance :) They're amazing!!!

That's a good idea, but here's how it is: HellsKitten sent me a private e-mail asking for the images, but she mentioned that many of them are out-of-date and have (since I saved them off the now-defunct website) been updated. Heck, the Rowdy Play design has even been supplied to her by a cast member, so whatever she's working on right now must be much better than the one I saved.

And anyway, I wouldn't want to do that without getting HellsKitten's permission.

Uhm... okay, let's see if I can say this without being too snarky. I have cable modem and, except during 90-degree days, my computer / modem is always on. I, however, am not always on my computer. In fact, the majority of my day is spent away from my computer. Therefore, it is entirely possible that when you "AIM" me, I may not be there to respond. And while I'm at it, there is no reason why you should know what's going on with these images since you're not actually a part of it.

That being said....

I really do appreciate everyone's enthusiasm over these shirts and eagerness to get them made. I am flattered that you think my recreations are good enough to own. Really. There would be no greater petty satisfaction for me than to get these shirts actually printed. After all, I've been working on these designs for nearly a year (there are a couple I didn't even get the opportunity to print before the hard drive revolt ). And to be able to have one on a shirt that I could actually put in the dryer after I wash it would be terribly novel for me.

Perhaps this is just an inappropriate outlet for my frustration with the fact that about 80% of my computer files are still inaccessible.

For each graphic that you see on my shirts, I spent at least a week perfecting them as best I could, not to mention all the money I spent on shirts, ink, and transfers to see if they actually look like they're supposed to once they're on a shirt. For each graphic. I put a lot of time, patience, and effort into these shirts all due to the fact that I love Firefly and once thought I could share these things with others who had the same appreciation for the show. For you to suggest that someone just take the files that I once offered for free and hand them over to someone so he can sell them... well, that's just a bit annoying to me.

The lovely MrPaco is correct: the images he got from my old website are definitely first generation graphics; some of them are, in my opinion, pretty crappy compared to the "final" versions I was working on. It would actually embarrass me to know that someone would pay money for them. He's also correct about the crew supplied graphics, but I can't elaborate on that.

I planned to finalize these graphics and get them to Alex so he could make them for you guys at whatever price he thought reasonable, since it's his time, materials and equipment. That plan hasn't changed. It's just taken longer than I ever anticipated. It may be that the files are gone forever. If that's the case, I shall mourn them deeply and start all over by scanning what I've already produced.

If you find that the waiting is absolutely intolerable, I can only suggest that you spend your time to make your own graphics, for I have no magical powers that can quickly make data reappear from an unreadable medium; that's what I'm paying the professionals for.

To everyone who's expressed interest in these shirts: I am doing my best to get things fixed so I can get the graphics to a printer. I have bookmarked this thread in the event that it gets burried, so once the shirts are available, I will make it well known so no one misses out. In the mean time, why not check out Alex's site, www.BlueSunShirts.com, and maybe he can provide you with a groovy shirt to your liking.

Cheers.

Didn't mean to offend you or anything, hence the problem w/ the internet where you can't get your meaning across w/o sounding like an asshole. Sorry.

Hope that everything turns out ok, again....wasn't trying to say anything at all, just these people keep wondering. Thanks for everything, but again on the internet everything you say you seemto yourself. :(

Hell's Kitten: The Flower of Carnage!

PS: I'll definitely wait for your designs. You got your hands on some (*ahem* "Water") that are nigh impossible to recreate to my exacting standards without having the actual design, so I kind of have to.

For those of you following the contuing saga of Hell's Kitten's Snarky Hard Drives (yes, they are, in fact, as irritable and short-tempered as I am)... and, I guess, for those of you not following... I have Jayne (E drive) right where I want him and I'm in the process of seducing him to get what I want. In other words, I have my recovery software running in hopes of getting at least some of my files back.

I actually started recreating a few of the designs, but found that I am actually quite a bit more impatient than I had originally thought. Hence the desperate coaxing with the recovery software. Hopefully progress will be made this weekend. 'Course, with my luck, bluesunshirts.com will probably disappear from the face of the planet and I'll have to start looking for a printer all over again. I hate computers. As always, I'll keep you informed as soon as there's anything worth saying.

Cheers.
