"Okay, I just got off the phone with someone at Fox that said a "Firefly" DVD was talked about in a meeting they had today. There is no other information regarding this title available, but it IS coming. We'll keep you informed when we receive more information, but nothing more is expected for some time".

Talk is cheap and I am guessing those DVDs won't be (but that won't stop me from buying them.) I am guessing you will see a complete set for about $100 or 2 per disc for about $15/$20.
And soon can mean anything in TV land.

A complete set of Season 1 of angel is 50 bucks.
A complete set of star trek is 100
Both of those are FULL seasons. Season 1 of buffy costs like 25-30 as its a half season.

The fifteen episodes of Firefly would fit nicely on a four or five DVD boxed set.
Hmmm...as a specialty item, released to a "cult" audience, don't expect the silly thing to be cheap. I'd be surprised to see it retail for less than $59.95.
Columbia House has been releasing a number of FOX series on VHS and DVD via subscription, including Alien Nation; the Alien Nation DVD's go for $19.95 plus shipping, and average three eps per disc.
