Well, here's some good news for you guys, maybe hearten you a little bit about the first trailer.

I'm a video editor (I use this term loosely) and after installing the newest quicktime on apple a couple of weeks back, I went to look at movie trailers online, to check out the 1080p HD playback.

On the strength of the trailer for serenity alone, I THAT DAY drove 100 miles round trip to buy the boxed set. I had no previous knowledge of Firefly, didn't know that Serenity was based on a show, and didn't even know who Joss Whedon was. That's the beauty of Google.

And the result? Seeing the trailer again in the theater after some exposure to the series, I'm proud to have been that one guy cheering knowingly before Batman Begins premeired last Wednesday.

So, in summary, while the trailer may seem ineffective in hooking newbies, I'm here to inform you to the contrary.

Welcome aboard BuckoSama. It's good to hear that the trailer is sucking people in. I saw it for the first [big screen] time with Batman Begins and also even though I'd seen it 50 times on my computer, I was entranced. Two of the people I was with who I could never convince to watch the DVDs were definitely interested.

100 miles round trip for the DVDs? Worth it ain't it?

If you enjoyed Firefly, other things you may look into include Joss' other series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel". Also Tim Minear, who worked closely with Joss on the Firefly series as well as "Angel" has a DVD series "Wonderfalls" and currently on FOX weds. at 9:00 EST "The Inside" See more info here: www.TheInside.org"

Seemed like there were more images in the on-line version. Anybody else think something had been deleted?

The version shown at the Serenity Con in the UK back in May was a slightly edited version and that one was shown by Universal so they could film us for the DVD.

Batman Begins rocks - I was mightily impressed!

extremely dimensionally transcendental

Batman was definately awesome. The problem I had with the FireFly trailer was that I'm worried it is confusing to those who don't know FireFly. Of course I'm probably just worried for nothing, b/c I want it to do well so they'll make more...you know a dozen or so. One a year would be cool. Like James Bond used to do. Anyway my wife and I will be there, and I'll probably see it multiple times (like many of you), so that'll boost sales. You gotta do what ya gotta do.
Fantastic Four looks cool too. I was a big fan of the comicbook as a kid, so i'm looking forward to it, though it has the potential of being cheesy and campy, but I hope its not. I'm hoping everyone learned their lesson about that with Batman and Robin.

HAH! Jadehand!

I just saw Marillion in Montreal three days ago. friggin' amazing show, even though it was just hogarth, trewavas, and rothery. probably even better for that actually. And I got some records signed.

As far as Buffy and Angel, yeah, I know I'm going to be shamed into watching those eventually. Don't know anything about Wonderfalls, though I've heard about it. The Inside? We'll see. I have so many series on dvd boxed set right now that another series is pretty daunting at thsi point.

Poo it's in the one movie I had planned not to see. If I want my trailer, I gotta venture to Batman land. :\

I respect Batman, but this movie didn't make me want to rush to the movie theater to see it.

I ended up sneaking from theater to theater so that I could catch the Serenity trailer more than once when I went to see Batman Begins. I am, of course, biased, but I cheered and applauded at the end of it (the trailer, not the movie).

However, just down the row from me, I heard someone say, in a tone that suggested he was just deciding, "I'm gonna have to see that one!"

So I think it's catching some attention.

Still, I'm half tempted to get my own sign and camp out at the local movie theater to advertise the movie. I wonder if they'd arrest me for that . . .

"You can't take my show from me,
Because I've got the DVD."
