Jayne shirt makes impression at Chinese restaurant.

I went to my neighborhood Chinese restaurant this evening. I was wearing a Jayne shirt, but was thinking nothing of it, when I got smiles from a friend of mine who is a waiter there but is originally from Shanghai. She complimented me on my shirt and another waitress asked me, "Does that really say, 'Little elves that fight?'" I responded with, "Yeah, I think that's what it's supposed to say." Or someting to that effect.

It's extra shiny when someone who has no knowledge of the show can be amused by reading the Chinese script on the t-shirt! :)

I got a similar reaction when I went to a Chinese Restaurant with my "Dead Fish" Jayne shirt. Very amused looks from all the waiters, until finally one of them came up and asked me about it. I acted like I had no idea what it said, but they seemed to like it...

"That's it, you're out. And he's out. I don't even know if I'm in. No Gang!"

I often get remarks when wearing a 'BlueSun' shirt. "What's that shirt say?", is pretty common. Eye cathing, that logo is.

Don't have a shirt yet, but I hope to get one soon.

...but I did embarrass myself mightily a few weeks ago. I ran over my toe with a shopping cart and let loose a few of the choicer Firefly Chinese/Cantonese curses. While I was rubbing the pain out, I noticed that the area of the store where this took place (produce) seemed a lot quieter.

Then I remembered I was in the Asian Market. (face/palm)

SOOOOOO embarrassed, and couldn't remember how to say "I'm sorry"...so I said it in English, immediately put the veggies back, and left the store in a hurry.

Last week the produce stocker *GIGGLED* when I wheeled past him...

I think I may have to swear off that store for a few months!
