I know it turns out badly but the kiss between Mal and Saffron just after he says "oh I'm goin to that special hell". Uhm, it gets me just typing about it. Every time I think Its such a shame for Mal's sake that it didn't last just a little bit longer.

She understands, she doesn't comprehend

I don't mean to nit-pick, but It's Fess Higgins.

Anyways, my favorite would be Inara kissing an unconcious Mal in "Our Mrs. Reynolds". Too bad that's the only real kiss that's ever happened between them.

I second this... The truly romantic moments in life are the ones where you fall asleep with the person you love on the couch with you. It's blissful contentment .... This scene caught that for me.

My favorite romantic moment was in OIS, when River comes in on Simon and Kaylee talking on the couch. You get a sense that all the awkwardness between them and the formality is stripped away, and they're acting like they're on a first date. And that one shot where Kaylee touches him with her bare foot, and Simon says "There were no Feds....not until I started singing." That look on his face as he says that shows that under the right circumstances, our Dr. Tam can indeed be a smooth operator.

It's a nice romantic moment, which is only interrupted when River sees what's he's thinking and the happy couple is stone faced.

And wow! Hey! What's this thing suddenly coming towards me very fast? Very very fast. So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like ... ow ... ound ... round ... ground! That's it! That's a good name - ground! I wonder if it will be friends with me?

Oh, I feel the same way. Just the way they're laughing and having such a good time, being so comfortable around one another . . . it makes me giggle and squee every time I watch the scene.

(And a little note to reginaroadie: Hitchhiker's Guide is so gorram shiny. =D)

Those are some good ones but I am a Jaylee fan and am pathetically always looking for subtext so these are my favorites-

In Serenity Part I when they're all sitting around the table and Kaylee is laying it on pretty thick to Simon, there is a shot when you see Jayne look at Kaylee, hitting on Simon and then at Simon and back at Kaylee and you know he doesn't like what he's seeing. Gives me chills.
"You're not going to kill this man." -Book
"Not right away, no." -Jayne
Can there be any more proof of affection from a guy like Jayne than immediate painful revenge on your behalf?
Also, big tough mean Jayne crouching by the infirmary window anxiously watching to see if Kaylee will be all right.

And Wash and Zoe and the end of War Stories when Wash says, "Mmmm. Wife soup. I must have done good." and she tucks the napkin in and says, "Yes, dear. You did good."

Because I like the "intense" bits, I vote for Wash in War Stories: "run! run!", and Mal and Inara at the end of Objects in Space, at a point when they know the truth about their affections for each other, and come close to giving in.

"Wife soup" isn't a bad one, either.

Simon: I can't keep track of her when she's NOT incorporeally possessing a spaceship, don't look at me --

I know this is just Pezzy's tag, but it's a great moment. Kaylee is playing nurse to the doctor and he's allowing her to do so. They're talking. Really talking. In this moment, he tells her she is worthy. The look on her face when she realizes he respects her is beautiful.

My favorite is just this little thing. Barely noticeable. It's Wash and Zoe at the celebration in "Our Mrs. Reynolds". He's sitting with his arms around her while she leans back against him. He turns his head and kisses her. I love it. I just shows a very tender moment between them and how close and comfortable with eachother.

I'm kind of fond of that one scene in "Our Mrs. Reynolds" where Inara finds Mal and thinks hes dying, kisses him and ends up passing out herself.

Mal: She's a human being. She has a name.
Jayne: So does this. I call her Vera.
Mal: Well the days of me taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle...

Yeh I agree with the people who mentioned the Simon & Kaylee scenes in Jaynestown, they were awsome!

Also the Objects in Space bit where Book ruins the Kaylee/ Simon moment! And the subsequent awkwardness! that was both annoying and funny! :D

PS. Kinda wanna kick Simon's ass for the numerous stupid things he says to Kaylee! :D
Here's to hoping we get something good in Serenity in the Kaylee/ Simon department.
