I plan on doing some recon down there - I've never been. Harlan, I think, is the one who mentioned Qdoras - which also sounds dandy to me.
The charlotte folks are pretty quiet on the UB just now, at least it seems - no one seemed to get excited about today's Observer blurb.
"Eddy" over at the UB site suggested we email Lawrence Toppman at the Charlotte Observer to see if he would print something about the Screening - he did today - it was short but pretty good...

Alot of us over on UB are out of towners, too. And I've been hanging out in the banner thread, ironing out kinks, so to speak
So we're playing it by ear.
I'm all about the burrito place. If, like CMS said, it works. And they wouldn't mind hungry, crazed fans taking over the joint.
now i want a bloody burrito

For what it's worth - Qdoba closes at 9pm and since my expected arrival time is 8:45 - 9:00 pm that won't work for us personally but please don't let that stop anyone else from enjoying the goodness that is Qdobas Burritos or Nachos --
mmmm- seasoned chucks of steak, simmered black beans, 3 cheese queso, ciltrno lime rice, verde salsa... gah making myself hungry!
Does anyone know what else in the area that would be open til 9:30ish ?

Well, according to Harlan, the Qdoras is in the same shopping centre as the theatre, so it could indeed make an ideal meeting place. I'm sure we'll all be able to spot each other easily enough (the crazed fan face is a dead give away. The browncoat is another). And people can grab food as they come, I guess. What does everyone else think about this?
My biggest problem is going to be finding ManWithPez, since he's the one that has my ticket.
Edit: Flechette beat me to the post. Does anyone else know if there is another restaurant in the same shopping center that's open later than 9pm?

* bumping to the top for todays conversations **
Can anyone confirmthat there is a Wendy's in the shopping centre and it's one that has the dining room open til 10pm?
I tried but I can't find a website for this centre- anyone closer by that might know of it?
----
Last weekend it took us 1hr 15 min on I85 to reach Concord Mills, then we took the next exit (48?) onto I485 and it was about 25 min to the theatre.
Anyone know if there is a shorter/faster route than that?

By the way, Googling for Restaurants on Rea Road, the Firebird came up quite a bit - seems to be the most popular.

But are any of them in the same shopping area as the theater?
