War of the worlds reimagineered (as they like to call these things, it`s a cool word) doesn`t look too bad, Spielberg has said he has had enough of the cutesy aliens and now wants to do the other kind - my only wish is they kept to the original HGWells story or did a full blown music video for the Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds Album - there was rumours years ago that there was some animation done for JW`s version, but I`ve not seen it, just the artwork form the album (which I original had on LP, then on minidisk & then CD (with the remixes which are cool)

My trip will be focused on the Martian, so I will probably take many shots to pick from, although I won`t be able to get there really early in the morning to catch the 1st rays of sun on the piece of art.

p.s.If you can, have a listen to the Orsen Wells Radio Show - I don`t know where you can get it from, but I have a version on the PC in MP3 format.

As I understand it, there are two War Of The Worlds licenses that can be bought. One is for the book version (a film of this is coming out in the next year or so, I think, and promises to be very faithful to the book) and the other is for the 1953 movie version (which the TV series was based on, incidentally). It's the 1953 version the Spielberg film is coming from.

Zol, you might want to check out http://www.thewaroftheworlds.com/
That's the website for the musical version, of which apparently there is a 'Collectors Edition' coming out, as a SACD with lots of added goodies.
There's also some test footage from the CGI movie of JW's version, which looks like it's still very much in production.

P.S. I had immense deja-vu when writing this post, so apologies if I've posted it somewhere else.

I had seen some of this, and as I write, the advert is on the TV - I would love the Collectors edition with 7 disks but at £79.99 it`s a bit expensive - I would be able to pay about 1/2 that - still I can wait for the CGI Movie.

Not quite as out of this world as Martians but here's what I've been taking photos of lately...

Jeremy Clarkson inside?

I know Top Gear have driven it.

Would have been nice to sit inside.

Well good news, bad news people.

Yes, there's a Firefly/Angel talk with Adam - but it's on Sunday and most of us (were?) going on Saturday.

They've announced quite a few new guests/talks this evening. And Zol - there's a HHG one, 3.30-4.00 on Saturday.

Well, I can`t make thesunday due to my other plans, that`s the problem witrh these events over several days, at least I expect Adam will be easily accessable on Saturday.

Still, does thsi change anybodies mind about goping on Saturday then? I suppose some could actually do both days and be more organised on the 2nd day.

Darin (Zol.)

p.s. note the thing about pre-booking tickets - does thsi mean that people going to see the guest talk will have to pay extra?
