So Apple just released the new quicktime codec for Windows and I was able to watch the High Def versions of the trailer. For the first time I noticed:

The Reaver ship from the Pilot Episode Serenity!! In the shot where one small ship flies out of a big nebula and is followed by a zillion huge ships, if you look in the lower left side of the frame you'll see the reaver ship with the magnetic grappler that chased the crew in the pilot.

Sorry if this is a repost of old news. I did some looking around and couldn't find it, so thought it might be worth posting. Got me pretty geeked to find it!! I love little self-references like that.

(For those that have seen the movie, please don't add any details about the shot in question to this post. Want to keep it as fresh as possible. Thanks guys!)

If you don't mind spoiling yourself by inspecting the hi-def trailer, look carefully at Serenity as she emerges from the nebula/cloud...

Jayne, your mouth is talkin. Might want to look into that.

I didn't need to download the Hi-Def version to notice the Reaver ship: I just hit Command+3 on the large version to go "Fill Screen"!
Kinda grainy, but...

I was wonderin' about all them spiny-lookin' things on Serenity, but I suspect it's camouflage of a sort.

Apparently, Serenity also gets some mesh guards for her intakes.

One can speculate that perhaps our Big Damn Heroes found some common ground with the Reavers, and struck up an alliance against the Alliance!

I'd go for the theory that they messed it up with both the reavers and the alliance. Fleeing from the reaver fleet, they see their only way in engaging directly on the alliance fleet. And swoosh: They find themself in the middle of a huge battle, totaly forgotten by both alliance and reavers :)

I don't know. They said during the series that there were still some 40,000 of those old Firefly class ships flying around. My guess would be that the one with the Reavers is just a different Firefly - not Serenity.
