In almost all episodes of Firefly Simon is wearing some sort of vest or really dressy clothing. So far in the movie previews he is wearing either a T-Shirt or some space looking suit. Did he get lazy with his wardrobe?

He gets more casual in his clothing as the series goes on, and he is settling in to his life on Serenity. So I think what he wears in the movie reflects that.
