Didn't notice until she mentioned it - screening ticket sales figures go toward the opening weekend gross of the film. Probably not enough to make a huge difference, but it's something.

I would think it no small amount either. Every theatre has been sold, so those figures should give us a good headstart on hitting the goal that 'Versal has set for Joss & crew.

Don't know, I read something around $50k so far, but can't tell if it's "official" or just guestimated. My guess would have been closer to 100k by now. Either way, when talking about box office, does anyone even care about the .1 or .05 after the millions? With a whole LOT of screenings however they might be able to "cheat" a bit to have a great result for the first day. But I doubt we will see a dozen more screenings in dozens more cities. Maybe about one every month? And if we (as in.. well, "we" over here) are REALLY lucky, they might spread out one batch over the rest of the world.

From Jewel's blog....

Also, the movie's not finished yet! This is just a preliminary version. There will be some changes. Not a lot, but some.
Ahhh...the plot thickens. Clearly, the screening wasn't the finished product. But the big ? remains..how MUCH change will there be? I won't go into what was said/seen at the ATL screening, but.....
Jewel also adds.....
Quote:That's definatly one thing I'll confirm.... we'll be seeing Serenity more than once! Count on that!!!!!
I'm hoping these audiences are interested in seeing the changes, or just really liked the movie the first time around and want to see it again. So never fear. The people at Universal are professionals, man! They know what they're doing! You can trust them! Okay? Okay.

Regarding changes to the film, Joss had this to say in a recent interview:
---
Will it go through any major changes between now and the release?
WHEDON: No, no major changes. I mean, there will be extremely affecting, subtle changes like having a coherent score all the way through, and not temp music from 96 different movies. And we’ll also do a digital intermediate and color time the movie, which means it’ll, again, have a very subtle but very important coherence. It’ll be a lot prettier and will generally just gussy the whole thing up.

OK, since it's from an interview, that's more along the lines of what I heard too. Seeing how Joss and Co. can 'gussy',....I can't wait!

People don't say "gussy" enough. We should definitely use that more.
That's all.
