I'm a project manager within the IT department of a bigger manufacturing company - unfortunately we just learned Thursday (why do they always have to share the bad news right before christmas???) that our company wants to outsource IT to India 
So if anybody has an interesting job for me, let me know - I'm not sure I want to do IT anymore... I'd love to be a bestseller writer, but that would mean I have to start writing :-)
Oh, and I'm currently living in Colorado, after moving from Germany to Belgium to here.

I've had so many different experiences in the job field it would take a website to cover them all. For the last year I've been an inside salesman for a very large truck accessories wholesaler
That is, until 2 weeks ago. They decided to close the Cleveland Ohio division. The money has been great but as of 1-31-03 I'll be unemployed. I also have been helping to care for my grandmother for the last few years but now she has to go into assisted living. I can't make house payments and nursing home payments especially without a job so now the house has to be sold to pay for her care. When it rains.....
Jobless, homeless. I have wanted to live in Florida since I was 17 and what better time to finally do it? I'm single, so no pressure there and my grandmother who won't be able to remember me very soon so I have no immediate family in the area anyways.
I have a job offer as a video & pinball tech (which I love doing) and another for a purchasing director at a large retirement community (good pay, better future (nepotism of course)) both in the Sarasota Florida area, plus I'm sure I could find alot of other jobs once I move there. The Florida gulf coast really is beautiful.
Sorry to ramble so much. So for a little bit I'll enjoy my high speed access while I can and get back to packing things up. I might not be around much the next 2 months but will get back up on high speed from Florida and hopefully be a happier person.

eh... Sheet metal worker for a small commercial heating and A/C company. Spent three years learning programming, all shiny and ready for a job when the dot-com crashed happened...so still banging metal. Before that...jeez a little of everything, air traffic controller, tried my hand at my own business(guttering).. all the time trying to work my way through school(six or seven years worth). Studied engineering initially, then decided to pursue law school, ended up in Architecture school here in Lawrence, KS. Then was fortunate enough to get custody of my kids (six years ago) and got a real job, the aforementioned sheet metal gig.
Wow...looks like kind of a mess when I write it all down. :)

I work with people who have special needs...
I noticed a lot of people (what, 3?) here listed that they're from Toronto. We've been trying to get a party for Friday going but have had no luck finding a place with a big screen TV (that's quiet enough to hear it) for the showing of Serenity. I'm from 1 hr. or so out of town so it's really inconvenient for me to arrange. If any of you have any ideas post here or find the old thread (very well hidden) in the gen dis file at the FOX Firefly board.

Wow, there are a lot of Canucks here. I'm a Master's student in history in Kingston, Ontario (which I've learned is essentially a suburb of Toronto, despite its distance). There are a lot of students here, too. Kewl. :)

Ok, that's not quite accurate.
I'm Digital Design Engineer apparently specializing in Avionics. At my previous place of employment, I got to work on part of the control system for a radio that relays video from an air to surface missile back to the pilot. I also designed the digital portion of the control system for a PA module for a radio that is installed on F-15s that allows pilots outside the hot zone to know what to expect before they get there. Then they laid me off and after 6 months of looking for a job, I landed a job with one of their competitors. My first project for this company was to debug a problem with a Color Weather Radar display destined for Air Force One where certain pixels were randomly drawn in the wrong locations.
